Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vinnie Barbarino (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rikki Samu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Barbarino's entrance music is The Barbarino song. A fine choice. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rikki Samu! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Kenichi Hosakawa and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Barbarino scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. The strikes coming from Barbarino are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Barbarino tries to move to mount but Samu blocks the move with his legs. Barbarino throws a strike aimed at the side of Samu's head but Samu avoids it well. Barbarino cracks Samu with an elbow. That is naaassty. Samu tries to improve position but can't. Samu really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Barbarino. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Barbarino is working to tighten is grip on Samu's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Samu has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Barbarino is really squeezing tight and eventually Samu passes out! Barbarino breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice sprawl there from Polman as Dog shoots in. Polman really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Dog darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Dog thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Dog seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Polman is trying to stand up here but Dog is controlling him well. Dog missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Polman is looking to escape. Dog is tying to control. Polman wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Dog connects with a nice short shot to Polman's temple. Dog takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Polman pushes Dog off looking to stand but Dog dives back in and keeps control.
Dog wants to pass to mount but Polman is defending the position. Polman is refusing to be controlled, as Dog sits in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Polman wants to get back to his feet. Dog is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Dog throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Polman looks like he's trying to stand up.
Dog is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Polman defends it well. Dog looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Polman with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Dog trying to control from half guard but Polman is working away. Polman is looking to control Dog's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Polman avoid being mounted? Polman on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Polman tries to kick Dog off but Dog keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Dog is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Dog stalling away here and it's allowed Polman to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Polman is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Polman working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Dog. Dog has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Dog loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Dog throws a strike but Polman rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Dog lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Polman!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Polman wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Dog.
Polman is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. Polman is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Polman tries to hold on but Dog pushes him away. Polman blocking the ground and pound. Dog avoids the attempt from Polman to control. Dog working the ground and pound effectively.
Dog thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

Dog jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Polman manages to avoid the submission attempt. Dog trying to control the action but Polman is working from the bottom. Sloppy strikes there by Dog. Dog scores with a couple of short elbows. Dog throws a strike aimed at the side of Polman's head but Polman avoids it well. Polman takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Dog scoring with punches from side control. Dog working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Polman wants to get back to his feet. Polman stops Dog from passing to mount. Polman taking punishment in the form of punches.
Dog lands some shots froms side control. Dog working the ground and pound but Polman is defending the strikes. Dog is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Polman is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Polman prevents Dog from improving position. Dog looks gassed!
That's six minutes gone in the round. Polman takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Dog is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Polman knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Polman parries the strikes from Dog easily there. Dog is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Polman to escape.
Polman is trying to buck Dog off. Dog wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Polman, who protects the arm well. Polman is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
That's seven minutes gone in the round. Dog is looking to take a break and control but Polman is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. You can see the frustration on Polman's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Dog throws a hook but Polman avoids it easily. Nice sprawl there from Polman as Dog shoots in. Dog closes this distance looking for a takedown but Polman circles away. Sammook Polman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of JunkYard Dog. Dog misses with a looping left.
That's eight minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Polman feints and then cracks Dog's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Dog down. Polman misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Dog.
Polman moves out of range of the strikes. Polman pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Polman lands with a thumping leg kick.
Polman will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Dog tries for a takedown but Polman sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
That's nine minutes gone in the round. Dog shoots in but no luck this time. Dog shoots for a takedown but Polman saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. The fighters circling - Dog throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Dog takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
It looks like JunkYard Dog has been cut. Dog closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. This has been an exciting period of action! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Polman struggling a bit here. Polman wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
JunkYard Dog dominated that round. The cut man is working on JunkYard Dog's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
A head kick lands from Polman that sends Dog to the canvas. Dog tries to scramble back to his feet but Polman brings him back down into side control. Dog manages to get back to half guard. JunkYard Dog has got the better of the ground game so far. Dog keeping hold of Polman's head, controlling as best he can. Dog wants to improve his position but Polman is controlling well.
Polman tries to stand and escape but Dog is controlling the position. Dog is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Dog is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Dog is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Polman decides to stand up. Dog closes the distance and clinches up with Polman, looking for a takedown. Dog pushes Polman against the cage but Polman circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Sammook Polman is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Dog swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Dog throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Polman's waist but Polman gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Dog off to one side. Dog fails with a takedown attempt. Sammook Polman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of JunkYard Dog. Polman throws a head kick that half lands.
That has opened up JunkYard Dog's cut even more.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dog takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Polman throws a big shot that misses. Dog takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Sammook Polman is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. This has been an exciting period of action! Polman throws a nice outside leg kick. Dog walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Polman dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Dog. That did some damage!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Polman connects with a solid leg kick. Polman misses with a wild combination.
Sammook Polman is winning the standup battle so far. Dog fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Dog walks forward, straight into a front kick from Polman. Dog stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Polman.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dog takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Polman throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
The cut above JunkYard Dog's eye is starting to cause him problems now. This has been an exciting period of action! Dog takes a kick to the side of the head. Dog misses with a straight left. Polman defending well as Dog loads up on a big left hand. Dog walks forward, straight into a front kick from Polman. Dog fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Polman buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Polman lands a nice leg kick that just misses Dog's sensitive parts. Polman lands with a kick to the temple. Dog shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" A big left from Dog misses. Polman lands a high kick!
Dog is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Polman.
That's six minutes gone in the round. Dog shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Polman but Polman pushes him off and we're back to square one. Polman throws a nice head kick!
JunkYard Dog's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters. Dog shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Polman pinned against the cage. Polman gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Dog takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Dog is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Polman feints and then cracks Dog's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Dog down.
That's seven minutes gone in the round. Dog pushing out the jab but it's not landing. JunkYard Dog seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Polman lands a head kick. Dog smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at JunkYard Dog's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mishima tries to close the distance and clinch but Franklin swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. A thudding body kick lands there by Mishima!
Mishima looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Franklin looks gassed! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Mishima drops back looking for a leg! Franklin is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Franklin manages to kick Mishima off! Mishima jumps back into Franklin's guard. Mishima looking to pass the guard. Franklin avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Franklin throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mishima accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Mishima postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Franklin wants to sweep here but Mishima controlling him for the moment. Franklin bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mishima's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mishima keeping full guard, as Franklin tries to pass. Mishima is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Mishima keeping moving, preventing Franklin from controlling successfully. Franklin controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Mishima preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Mishima is looking to stand up but Franklin isn't so interested in that idea. Mishima utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Franklin postures up in Mishima's guard and throws a big left but Mishima blocks it.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Mishima misses the shot to the body. Franklin keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Mishima. Franklin closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Mishima to the mat! Mishima manages to get full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mishima is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Franklin advances position into side control! A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Franklin looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Mishima is trying to buck Franklin off. Franklin tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Mishima regains half guard.

Ooooh, that looks tight… Mishima is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Mishima and Franklin has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Possibly, maybe, no Franklin has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Franklin looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Mishima is avoiding damage well.

Franklin looks to land a strike but Mishima avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Franklin preventing the sweep. Franklin drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Franklin jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Franklin accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Franklin trying to move into half guard but instead Mishima has managed to sweep! Mishima is looking to stand up but Franklin won't let him. Franklin has his feet on Mishima's thighs here. He's pushed Mishima off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Mishima screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!

Uzomaki is out but he's somehow still standing... he's going... going... gone. Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even Davies can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carlton ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Smith throws a head kick that misses. Carlton throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Smith throws a nice head kick!

Carlton tries to lock up and control but Smith gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Smith prevents Carlton from getting the reversal. Smith thowing shots but they're missing. Smith plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Smith scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Carlton walks into a stiff left hand from Smith. Smith gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Carlton thows a leg kick but Smith checks it and Smith counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Smith throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
A punch lands to the side of Smith 's head but he takes it in his stride. A jab from Smith finds it's way through Carlton's defenses. Carlton connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Smith keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
The fighters circle, before Smith throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Carlton's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Smith lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!
