The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bear darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Lord is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Bear jumps into side control! Bear lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Lord down.
Lord sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Lord is looking to improve his position.
Lord on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Lord is refusing to be controlled, as Bear sits in half guard. Bear stalling. Bear is looking for a kimura here.
Bear landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Bear connects with a nice short shot to Lord's temple. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lord can do anything to dispel that myth. Bear is figuring out what he wants to do next. Bear lands strikes from half guard. Bear works his way into full mount! Bear landing strikes, looking to finish! Bear blocks Lord's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom. Bear controlling his opponent. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bear breaks from Lord's wrist control and lands an elbow. Bear lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Lord hang on? Bear content just to control the position here. Bear landing strikes from the mount. Bear sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Lord is wriggling around trying to escape.
Bear pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Lord flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.

Bear controlling the pace for now. Bear has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Lord's face.
Bear swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between masicer madgwick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and AIDEN TAYLOR (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). masicer madgwick had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 146.3lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

TAYLOR darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. TAYLOR thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed madgwick's head. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gordon Maxwell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lincoln shoots for a takedown but Maxwell saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Lincoln moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Lincoln shoots in and drives through. Maxwell sprawls well. Gordon Maxwell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Abe Lincoln. Maxwell keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Maxwell can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Lincoln seems to have recovered his senses. Maxwell thows a big elbow that misses. Maxwell makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Malone feints and as Lindblad raises his hands in defense, Malone changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Malone passes easily into side control. Nice work. Lindblad stops Malone from passing to mount. Malone tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Malone is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Lindblad has escaped the position, nice work there. Lindblad is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Malone tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Malone has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Malone swings around for an armbar but Lindblad sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Malone's guard.

That's going to take a lot out of Tom Malone. Malone throws a head kick that misses. Malone shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Lindblad as he jumps to the side. Malone has a takedown stuffed. Lindblad blocks a head kick by Malone.
Lindblad misses the shot to the body. Malone stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Malone shoots in for a takedown but Lindblad shows good takedown defense. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Andreas Lindblad will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
