Mean catches Bloodfist with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Bloodfist keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Bloodfist fails with a takedown attempt. Xavier Mean seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mean misses with a two punch combination.
Bloodfist closes this distance looking for a takedown but Mean circles away. Bloodfist shoots in but no luck this time. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Argos Bloodfist. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Mean gets the takedown into side control. Mean working the strikes but Bloodfist uses the opportunity to regain half guard. Bloodfist preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head. Bloodfist is looking to work some ground and pound but Mean has wrist control. Mean lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Bloodfist! Bloodfist wants to control but Mean is having none of it. Mean lands a big elbow. Mean cracks Bloodfist with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Bloodfist is breathing heavily. Bloodfist bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Mean working the body and head with strikes. Mean works to advance to full mount. Bloodfist defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Bloodfist tries to hold on but Mean postures up. Mean blocks Bloodfist's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom. Mean is in the full mount, landing strikes. Bloodfist is bucking up trying to escape but Mean cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Bloodfist is working to get back to half guard.
Mean goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Bloodfist is on top in guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Bloodfist slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Mean stuffs the takedown attempt from Bloodfist. Bloodfist gets slowly back to his feet.

Matters shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Doe's guard. Doe looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Matters wants to control from the top but Doe keeps moving. Matters throwing strikes from guard but Doe blocks nicely. Matters has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Matters thows a big elbow that misses. Matters wants to control from the top but Doe keeps moving. Matters tries to free his leg and advance position but Doe is retaining full guard. Matters is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. A kick lands to the mid section there for Matters. Matters scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Doe is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Matters. Nice takedown defense from Doe. No joy for Matters on that attempt.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Matters. Doe wants to get back to his feet but Matters is dominant here and he's now got Doe's back! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Kerrigan shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Wade tries to hold on but Kerrigan postures up. Kerrigan misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Dan Wade has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alvan Kerrigan. Wade misses with a double jab.

Kerrigan looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Wade! Kerrigan looking to ground and pound but Wade is blocking nicely. Poor strikes thrown by Kerrigan there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Wade tries to hold on but Kerrigan postures up.
Kerrigan is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Wade has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Wade! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dan Wade dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Kerrigan moves out of range as Wade strikes. Kerrigan throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Wade counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Wade cracks Kerrigan with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Kerrigan takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Kerrigan throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Wade escapes and throws Kerrigan's legs to the side, diving into side control! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
