Raid looks to throw the jab but DeSade is out of range.

Gator Raid seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

DeSade goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

It looks like Gator Raid has been cut.

Raid tries to keep at a distance but DeSade has taken the fight into the clinch.
Raid could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
DeSade stops a takedown attempt from Raid.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Raid is trying to drag DeSade to the mat but DeSade just about manages to keep his footing. He used the ropes to his advantage there.
DeSade lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Raid backwards.

I think Budgell might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to I D.A.R.E. David Bowie To Drive Drunk. Robinson is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Rage against the machine- Killing in the name. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Sam Robinson was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

I think Dolan has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Figgjo throws the left hand but Mess avoids the punch easily.
Sean Mess seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Mess closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Mess lands in his opponent's guard.
Mess stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Figgjo swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Figgjo had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Mess is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Figgjo Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Mess's back instead.

Mess turns into Figgjo and is now in his guard.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Figgjo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mess doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mess manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Mess misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Mess swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Figgjo is now in Mess's guard. A big mistake from Mess there, giving up the dominant position!

Mess is looking for a triangle here but Figgjo uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Figgjo is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Mess has escaped the position, nice work there.
Figgjo is looking to take a break and control but Mess is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Mess tries to bench press Figgjo off him but Figgjo keeps the position.

Figgjo tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Figgjo has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Sean Mess will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Nice takedown defense from Figgjo. No joy for Mess on that attempt.
Mess shoots for a double leg takedown but Figgjo sprawls well. He's pushed Mess's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Figgjo lands a big elbow - Mess is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Figgjo!
