Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Blake Grant! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, hi bye! The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Steve Montenegro and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! bye tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Grant paws at him with a jab and circles away. Grant drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Grant lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear bye down.
bye is trying to buck Grant off. Grant is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. bye pushes Grant away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Grant gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. bye prevents Grant from moving into mount. bye is trying to buck Grant off. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Grant swats away the attempt to clinch by bye. Grant changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. bye tries to avoid it but Grant manages to keep hold of a leg and drag bye to the ground. bye escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Grant lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down bye. bye using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Grant has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Hajo connects with a solid leg kick. Hawkins tries to clinch up and Hajo counters with a three punch combo that has Hawkins backing up. Hawkins nods at Hajo to acknowledge the strikes. Hawkins fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hajo, pushing him back against the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hajo wants to break the clinch but can't.
