Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Faramir Gondor! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gonzala Kerrison! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Edson Gomes and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kerrison feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Kerrison trying to control but Gondor is working from the bottom. Gondor is looking for a triangle but Kerrison pushes his legs off easily.
Kerrison looking to sit in guard and control but Gondor gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Gondor not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Gondor content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Gondor stands up over Kerrison, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Kerrison trying to control the position.
Kerrison wants to sweep here but Gondor controlling him for the moment. Gondor postures up.
Gondor is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gondor gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Gondor shoots and misses and Kerrison counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Kerrison. Gondor has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kerrison can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Kerrison stands and throws Gondor's legs to the side, diving into side control. Gondor parries the strikes from Kerrison easily there. Kerrison is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Gondor to escape.
Gondor is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Kerrison's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Kerrison seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Gondor does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Kerrison prevents Gondor from improving his position. Kerrison not landing any meaningful shots this time. Gondor is trying to get back to full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Gondor is staying active underneath Kerrison, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Gondor looks like he's trying to stand up.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Gondor gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Kerrison counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Gondor! Gondor is breathing heavily. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! You get the feeling that Gondor really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Gondor tries to hold on but Kerrison pushes him away. Gondor really wants to buck Kerrison off and get back to his feet. Kerrison is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Gondor is surviving well by controlling Kerrison's body position as best he can. Gondor sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Kerrison passes to side control. Gondor regains half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gondor tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Gondor looking for submissions off his back. Gondor makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Gondor. Gondor lands an upkick as Kerrison stands over him. Gondor tries to land a sweep but no joy. Gondor pushes a forearm under Kerrison's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Kerrison is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Groves closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Groves is looking to break free of the clinch but Mifsud has double underhooks. Mifsud wants to get back to striking at distance but Groves won't allow it.

Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Groves shoots in for a double leg but Mifsud sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery. Mifsud lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Cory Groves has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Mifsud throws a combination. Groves tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Groves shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Mifsud as he jumps to the side. A right-left combo lands from Mifsud. Groves has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Mifsud. Groves chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Mifsud can pounce on him.
Mifsud lands with a kick to the temple. Groves shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Groves will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Mifsud throws a nice head kick!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Horrible takedown by Smart or perhaps it was just good defense by Von Spar which made him look bad. Smart ducks under a wild hook from Von Spar. Smart tries to close the distance and clinch up but Von Spar swats him away and circles back towards the center. A combination from Smart does no damage. Von Spar moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
It looks like Maxwell Smart has been cut. Smart fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Von Spar scores with a jab.
Smart is rocked! Von Spar throws an uppercut from hell that sends Smart clean off his feet! He's out cold! Von Spar stands back and admires his work as he thinks about that KO of the night award that is surely being wrapped up for him back stage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Koc avoids the head kick by De Santana.
Wanadi De Santana seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. De Santana catches Koc with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! De Santana misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Davis uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Knight.
A big left from Davis misses. Suge Knight seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Knight tries to clinch but Davis is having none of it. Knight takes a swing at Davis's ribcage but misses. Knight swinging wilding here.
Davis fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Knight throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Davis sees it coming and avoids it easily. Knight instigates a clinch. Knight is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Knight breaks the clinch.

Davis trying to control but Knight is working from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Knight wants to stand and escape but Davis is having none of it. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Knight had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Davis is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Knight Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Davis's back instead. Knight is riding his opponent, not letting Davis buck him off. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Knight throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Davis. A combination from Davis does no damage. A nice leg kick lands there from Knight. Knight rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Davis moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Knight stuffs the takedown attempt from Davis. Davis gets slowly back to his feet. Knight scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Knight buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Davis doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Izzy Davis's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. Knight cracks Davis with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Knight tries to clinch there but Davis circles away.

Davis is rocked! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Knight lands a nice hook to Davis's body. Davis takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Knight throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Davis. A head kick misses from Davis. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Davis crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Knight - the referee stops the clock and Davis gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Knight. Davis manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Knight doesn't manage to clinch there - Davis circles away.

A little nod from Radu there as he acknowledges the shot. Russian Experiment V is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Experiment V throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Radu with a lazy takedown attempt and Experiment V connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Experiment V with a body punch. A glancing blow. Radu shoots and misses and Experiment V counters with a stiff right hand. Experiment V stuns Radu with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Experiment V misses with a hook. Radu ducked under it nicely. Experiment V fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Radu sizes up Experiment V with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Experiment V swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Experiment V connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Experiment V rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Radu moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Radu throws a predictable looking body shot
and Experiment V makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Experiment V scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Radu doesn't seem bothered though. Experiment V lands with an uppercut that bounces Radu off the cage and back into rage. Radu misses with a shot to the body and Experiment V counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Experiment V is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round!Radu had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté. Radu takes a shot right to the bread basket. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! The crowd cheers as Experiment V lands an impressive looking overhand right. Radu doesn't seem phased though. Radu is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Experiment V. Oh Radu is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Radu tries to clinch up and Experiment V counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Russian Experiment V dominated that round. The cut man is working on Cristi Radu 's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Radu seems to have got his legs back now. Experiment V cracks a nice hook into Radu 's ribs. Experiment V drops Radu with a beautiful combination! Radu stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Experiment V is looking for the KO!
Radu is rocked! Experiment V fakes the leg kick and throws a superman punch. It's knocked Radu out cold! Brutal finish!
