The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alistair Struve (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Manny Wright (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wright has chosen Superstar Remix as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wright slips under a jab.

Wright shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Struve's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wright loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Struve looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Wright throws a big right hand that misses.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Struve has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Wright finds it's way round the side to connect with Struve's head.

Struve decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Wright escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Struve gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Struve will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Struve winds up and cracks Wright with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Struve looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Wright with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Struve is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Wright is just riding it out for now. Struve eventually gives up the hold.

You can see the frustration on Wright's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Wright tries to bench press Struve off him but Struve keeps the position.
Wright gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Wright wants to hold on but Struve pushes him away.
Struve breaks from Wright's wrist control and lands an elbow.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Wright bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Struve's head backwards.

Struve escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Wright gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Wright can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Struve is looking to escape.

Well Wright has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
