The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matador chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Shyoto can pounce on him.
Matador jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Shyoto tries to close the distance and clinch but Matador swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Matador misses with a wild body shot.
Matador walks into a jab.
Shyoto drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Shyoto's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Shyoto postures up in Matador's guard and throws a big left but Matador blocks it.

Thiago de Souza had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 171.7lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Thiago de Souza looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.
