1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mike Goodwell! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Gregory Folan and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Reinikainen throws a nice looking combination but Goodwell bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Goodwell looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Reinikainen fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Reinikainen fails to land the takedown. Reinikainen shoots in but no luck this time. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ukko Reinikainen. That's going to take a lot out of him. Reinikainen shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Goodwell but Goodwell pushes him off and we're back to square one. Reinikainen lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Reinikainen closes the distance and clinches up with Goodwell, looking for a takedown. Reinikainen pushes Goodwell against the cage but Goodwell circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Goodwell tries to clinch but Reinikainen moves out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. No luck for Reinikainen with that takedown attempt. Goodwell takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Reinikainen looks to land a body kick but Goodwell moved away. Reinikainen with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Reinikainen. Reinikainen swings and misses with a hook to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Reinikainen has Goodwell up against the cage in a clinch.
A short right from Reinikainen on the inside. Goodwell pushes off an throws an elbow but Reinikainen leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. With the two fighters working up against the cage, Goodwell just misses with a elbow thrown towards Reinikainen's brow. Reinikainen tries to pull guard but Goodwell won't allow it.
Reinikainen goes for a takedown attempt but Goodwell pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Reinikainen jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Reinikainen misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Goodwell stuffs the takedown attempt from Reinikainen. Reinikainen gets slowly back to his feet. Reinikainen looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Reinikainen throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Reinikainen changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Goodwell tries to avoid it but Reinikainen manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Goodwell to the ground. Goodwell escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Reinikainen misses with a head kick.
Goodwell tries to clinch but Reinikainen moves away and Reinikainen counters with a low kick, right behind Goodwell 's knee. Goodwell blocks a head kick by Reinikainen.
Reinikainen fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Reinikainen darts in trying to clinch and Goodwell counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Goodwell. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ukko Reinikainen dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Reinikainen shoots in and bounces Goodwell off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Reinikainen is stalling in the full guard. Reinikainen wants to control from the top but Goodwell keeps moving. Goodwell is breathing heavily. Goodwell being controlled here, momentarily. Goodwell wants to stand but Reinikainen is controlling the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Reinikainen is in close to Goodwell's body, working some short punches and elbows. Reinikainen looking to control the position here, rather than advance. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Goodwell is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Reinikainen controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Reinikainen won't allow Goodwell to get back to his feet. Reinikainen showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Reinikainen has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Reinikainen advances to half guard. Reinikainen stands up out of the half guard. Reinikainen ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Reinikainen fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Goodwell blocks a head kick by Reinikainen.

He's pushed Reinikainen's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ukko Reinikainen. That's going to take a lot out of him. Reinikainen clinches but Goodwell breaks the clinch and Goodwell holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Reinikainen pulls guard successfully.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Reinikainen is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Goodwell closes the distance but Reinikainen moves to the side and Reinikainen counters by moving into the clinch. Goodwell prevents a takedown attempt there.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Reinikainen jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Goodwell manages to avoid the submission attempt. Reinikainen advances to full mount. Reinikainen controlling from the full mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Reinikainen in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Reinikainen postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Goodwell looks a forlorn figure.
Reinikainen is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Goodwell can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Goodwell is trying to stand but he's not in a good position to be doing that! Reinikainen has taken his back! Mike Goodwell has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Reinikainen has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Goodwell's body.
And that's the end of the fight! Ukko Reinikainen showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Reinikainen, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hoffman closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Hoffman lands in his opponent's guard. Hoffman postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Hippa is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Hoffman, into his guard. Hippa loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Hippa avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Hippa trying to control the position from guard on top but Hoffman is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Hoffman has his foot on Hippa's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hippa works his way back into a safe position though. Hoffman throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Hippa must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Hoffman pushes a forearm under Hippa's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Hippa is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Virtanen knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Growes on the ground. Virtanen looking to hit a scissor sweep but Growes is one step ahead there. Growes with a nice head shot there. Growes postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Growes content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Some bone on bone action there as Simpson checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Simpson tries to clinch there but Orlson circles away.
Orlson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A head kick misses from Orlson. A head kick misses from Orlson. Orlson pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Orlson cracks a nice hook into Simpson's ribs. Simpson swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Orlson is looking to clinch but Simpson is avoiding it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Orlson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Simpson thows a body shot but no joy. Orlson moves in looking to clinch but Simpson pushes him off. Orlson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Simpson as he avoids it easily. Orlson just misses with a punch to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nice sprawl there from Simpson as Orlson shoots in. A solid body kick from Orlson. Simpson blocks a head kick by Orlson.
Simpson lands a big uppercut and Orlson crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Orlson looks OK. Simpson waves Orlson back to his feet!

It looks like Zack Orlson has been cut. A nice inside leg kick there by Simpson. That's going to slow Orlson down. Orlson looks gassed! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Simpson throws a lazy head kick and Orlson counters with a single leg into guard. Simpson didn't expect that. Simpson wants to stand and escape but Orlson is having none of it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Simpson does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Horrible takedown by Orlson or perhaps it was just good defense by Simpson which made him look bad. Bart Simpson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Zack Orlson.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Orlson. Orlson scores with a shot to the body.

Orlson throws a series of strikes that have Simpson backpedaling.
Orlson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Simpson as he jumps to the side. Orlson throws a sloppy head kick and Simpson counters with a nice low kick that buckles Orlson's knee momentarily. Simpson chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Zack Orlson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Simpson throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Simpson tries to work over Orlson's front leg with a kick but Orlson checks it. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. A kick lands to the mid section there for Simpson. Simpson scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Simpson wants to land a leg kick but Orlson is out of range. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bart Simpson dominated that round. The cut man is working on Zack Orlson's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Orlson stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Simpson is looking for the KO! Orlson is still on wobbly legs! Can Simpson finish him? Simpson throws a solid leg kick but Orlson takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Simpson. Orlson seems to have recovered his senses. Simpson chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Crack! A monster head kick from Simpson and Orlson falls like a tree - timbeeeeeeeeeeerrrr! A highlight reel knockout by Simpson!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nutz tries to land a front kick but Lohk steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Nutz drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Lohk is looking for a sweep. Lohk is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Nutz off and has taken his back! Nutz has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke. Nutz covering up well under a series of strikes from Lohk. Nutz controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position. Lohk is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Cash fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Carlos, pushing him back against the cage. Cash has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Carlos is trying to keep an underhook but Cash manages to get the takedown into half guard. Carlos wants to improve his position but Cash is controlling well.
Carlos makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Carlos. Cash preventing the sweep. Cash has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Carlos is proving hard to escape from. Carlos manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Cash manages to get himself to full guard.

No luck this time Carlos. Cash wants to get back to full guard. Cash avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Carlos.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Cash won't allow Carlos to pass to mount. Cash is trying to stand up here but Carlos is controlling him well.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Carlos keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Cash. Cash fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Carlos is out of range. Carlos looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Cash! Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Cash is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Cash knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Carlos on the ground. Carlos with shots to the head and body - Cash looks very uncomfortable down there. Cash takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Cash tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Cash is breathing heavily. Carlos looking to control but Cash is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Cash bucks Carlos off and manages to get back to his feet! Cash attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Cash throws an overhand right that lands on Carlos's shoulder, as Carlos tries to avoid the shot. Cash misses with a series of wild punches.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Carlos fails with a takedown attempt. Cash misses with a head kick.
Carlos feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Cash throwing strikes off his back to little effect.

That's one minute gone in the round. Cash tries to close the distance and clinch up but Carlos swats him away and circles back towards the center. Cash stuffs the takedown attempt from Carlos. Carlos gets slowly back to his feet. Carlos closes the distance and clinches up with Cash, looking for a takedown. Carlos pushes Cash against the cage but Cash circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Cash connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. A head kick misses from Cash. Cash punishes Carlos's body with a nice straight punch. Carlos is breathing heavily.

He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Carlos was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Carlos looking to finish Cash with some ground and pound. This is bad for Cash! Cash is working to get back to half guard.
Carlos lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Cash is in a horrible position here. Carlos smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

And that's the end of the fight! Newton Carlos comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Carlos has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
