Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Tommy Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 1, fighting out of London, James Phillips! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Andrew Berry and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones looks to land a right hand but Phillips moved out of range. The fighters circling - Jones throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Jones misses with an uppercut. Jones throws a looping overhand right but Phillips ducks down to avoid it. A slow jab from Jones misses its intended target. Phillips takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Tommy Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Phillips shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Jones's guard. Phillips seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Jones keeping full guard, as Phillips tries to pass. Jones is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Phillips trying to control but Jones is working from the bottom.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No joy there for Showtime, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Showtime looks to land a combination but Ridley avoids it well. Ridley shoots in and drives through. Showtime sprawls well. Showtime misses with the combination.
Ridley changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Showtime tries to avoid it but Ridley manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Showtime to the ground. Showtime escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Showtime swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Ridley seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Showtime for as long as he can get away with.

Showtime is not defending it well and Ridley has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Showtime refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Showtime's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!

Short tries to score a body lock takedown but Naboo shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Short gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Naboo.
Short has hold of one of Naboo's legs. Naboo is fighting the takedown attempt but Short gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Naboo wants to get back to his feet but Short is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Naboo is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Short is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Naboo stands up from Short's guard - Naboo perhaps looking for a knockout. Johann Naboo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Short looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Naboo is fending him off so far but Short persists. Nope, Naboo circles away and we're back to standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Luke Short. Naboo manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Short tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Naboo paws at him with a jab and circles away. Naboo misses with an attempted mid kick.
Short walks into a jab. Naboo ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Short has his takedown stuffed and Naboo counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Naboo trying to stand up but can't free himself from Short's guard.

Short has his takedown stuffed and Naboo counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Short gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Naboo counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Short is trying to control but can't.

Naboo throws a lazy head kick and Short makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Short is looking to clinch. Short misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A nice inside leg kick there by Short. That's going to slow Naboo down. Naboo throws the kick towards the body but Short avoids it. Naboo throws a body kick the misses and Short counters with a flying knee. Nice. Naboo rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Short moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Naboo takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

Luke Short has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Johann Naboo is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Short is standing up over Naboo. Naboo looks to escape but Short dives into side control.

It looks like Jimmy Silva has been cut. Silva looks gassed! Owens wants to slow Silva down by chopping away at his legs. Silva is still on wobbly legs! Can Owens finish him? Silva gets a takedown into half guard. Silva seems to have recovered his senses. Silva wants to stand up but Owens is controlling the position.

Silva trying to control the position from guard on top but Owens is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Owens wants to stand up but Silva is controlling him. Owens keeping moving, preventing Silva from controlling successfully. Silva trying to move into half guard but instead Owens has managed to sweep! Owens tries to stand but Silva is controlling from the bottom. Owens stands and steps away. Silva gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Silva keeps the fight on the outside.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Owens tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Owens misses with the combination.
Silva fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Some wild striking there from Owens.
Owens throws and low kick but Silva moves out of range easily. Owens throws the left hand but Silva avoids the punch easily. Silva throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Owens's waist but Owens gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Silva off to one side. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Silva looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Silva pushes down on Owens's leg and manages to get into half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Owens lands an uppercut. Silva has had enough of the clinch but Owens keeps him there for the moment. Owens pushes Silva back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Nice elbow from Owens. Silva fails to pull guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Owens throws a knee to the head but misses.
Silva tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Owens smiles and moves away.
Gareth Owens has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jimmy Silva. The fight stays on the outside here - Owens looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Owens is looking to get to half guard. Owens tries to hold on but Silva pushes him away. Owens is looking to improve his position but Silva isn't that keen on the idea. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Silva thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Silva throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
