The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Reaper rushes Beats and presses him up against the cage. Reaper manages to break the clinch.
Reaper jabbing away but nothing is landing. Beats tries to clinch up. Reaper goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
It looks like Drama Beats has been cut. Beats keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Reaper. Reaper shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Beats as he jumps to the side. Beats tries to clinch there but Reaper circles away.

Reaper checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Beats fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Reaper sprawls well initially but Beats persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Reaper is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Beats's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Beats's back! Beats really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Reaper. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Reaper has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Beats has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Reaper trying to control momentarily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Reaper is looking to control Beats but Beats is wriggling around and keeping busy. Beats just trying to survive but Reaper is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish. I really don't envy Beats right now.
