The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Antti tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Oooh a lovely combination from Antti sends Tuominen down but not out. Antti dives into side control looking to finish.

Tuominen is rocked!
Tuominen is looking for a sweep.
Tuominen manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Tuominen wants to improve his position but Antti is controlling well.
Antti wants to stand but Tuominen has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Tuominen moves into full guard.
Tuominen wants to sweep here but Antti controlling him for the moment.
Tuominen is working hard here to advance position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Antti fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Tuominen manages to avoid it.

Tuominen ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Tuominen wants to free his trapped foot but Antti is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Tuominen is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Tuominen takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Tuominen looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Antti is trying to stand but he's not in a good position to be doing that! Tuominen has taken his back!

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Antti will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Antti throws a body kick that misses.
Antti scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Tuominen shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Tuominen has a takedown stuffed.
Antti throws a head kick that misses.
Antti fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Tuominen is out of range.

Tuominen scores with a takedown into Antti's guard.
Tuominen is pushing down on Antti's leg trying to pass to half guard. Antti is fighting to maintain full guard but Tuominen has managed to sneak the leg through.

Antti tries to kick Tuominen off but Tuominen keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Tuominen decides to stand up.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Antti pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Tuominen shoots in for a double leg but Antti sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Oiva Tuominen. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Antti throws a low kick, looking for Tuominen's leg but Tuominen calmly moves out of range.
Antti throws a sloppy head kick and Tuominen moves out of range easily.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Tuominen.
Antti cracks Tuominen with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Tuominen tries for a takedown but Antti sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Rannanjarvi Antti seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Antti misses with a head kick.

Antti throws a sloppy head kick and Tuominen moves out of range easily.
A punch combination from Antti misses.
Antti throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Tuominen.

Tuominen drives through with a takedown into guard.
Tuominen slips nicely into half guard.

Tuominen is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Antti sees it coming and defends easily.
Antti really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Tuominen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Antti wants to get back to his feet.

Tuominen looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Tuominen is pressing down on Antti's thigh, looking to free his foot. Antti is holding on for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Oiva Tuominen will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Antti is looking to get back to is feet but Tuominen passes into side control.

Antti is trying to buck Tuominen off.

Tuominen wants to control but Antti is keeping him busy.

Tuominen in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Antti is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
