1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jon Coe! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jordan Johnson! The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Bruno Lombardi and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Coe.
A combination from Coe does no damage. Coe misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Coe throws a right and a left that both miss. Coe throws a right and a left that Johnson avoids nicely. Nice takedown defense from Johnson. No joy for Coe on that attempt. Coe scores with a takedown into Johnson's guard. Coe wants to control from the top but Johnson keeps moving. Coe is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Johnson keeping moving, preventing Coe from controlling successfully. Johnson looking for a sweep. Not yet Johnson, not yet.

Johnson is fending him off so far but Coe persists. Nope, Johnson circles away and we're back to standing. Coe is breathing heavily. Johnson lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
It looks like Jon Coe has been cut. Johnson shoots in but no luck this time. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Johnson. Johnson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Coe as he jumps to the side. Jon Coe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jordan Johnson. Johnson connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Johnson closes the distance and clinches. Johnson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. No joy there for Johnson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Johnson can't keep his opponent in guard - Coe advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Coe is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Can Johnson avoid being mounted? The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Johnson is controlling Coe's trapped leg to prevent Coe from advancing to side control. Johnson doesn't succeed with the takedown and Coe counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Johnson! Coe can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Johnson is looking to escape. Coe avoids the attempt from Johnson to control. Coe looking to control but Johnson is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Coe is going olschool here, as he tries to force Johnson to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Johnson shrugs it off. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Coe has hold of Johnson's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Johnson manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Coe tries to control but Johnson wriggling away.

Coe is looking to advance position but Johnson won't allow it. Coe is trying to control the action in half guard but Johnson is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Johnson is trying to stand up here but Coe is controlling him well. Coe wants to lay and pray for a moment but Johnson keeps working. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Johnson can do anything to dispel that myth. Johnson throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Coe trying to control from Johnson's half guard. Johnson has other ideas though and has regained full guard.

Johnson throws a right hand that Coe ducks under and follows up with a left that Coe also avoids with ease. Coe with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Johnson to score with a decent uppercut. Johnson fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Coe, pushing him back against the cage. Coe manages to break the clinch.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Johnson lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Johnson throws a series of punches but Coe moves out of range. Coe throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Johnson. Johnson misses with a series of wild punches.

Johnson throws a series of punches but Coe avoids them all with ease. Coe misses with a jab, cross combination.

Johnson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Coe. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Coe is really struggling to control Johnson but he's trying to hold on to the position. Coe is looking for a kimura here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Coe wants to control but Johnson is keeping him busy.
