5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Carlie Phelps! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, sucre jackson! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Robert Douchet and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! jackson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Phelps looking to hit a scissor sweep but jackson is one step ahead there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Phelps can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as jackson controls the pace. Phelps is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. jackson decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. jackson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. jackson tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Phelps is breathing heavily. jackson stands up and we're back to a striking position. jackson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. jackson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Phelps sprawls well initially but jackson persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Phelps slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Phelps throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

jackson is just content to waste time from the top position. Phelps takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. jackson is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Phelps is looking for a triangle but jackson pushes his legs off easily.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Irvin misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Irvin throws a nice looking combination but Hain bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Hain checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Irvin tries to land a front kick but Hain steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Irvin shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hain as he avoids it easily. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Irvin!

Irvin tries to clinch but Hain moves out of range. Hain with a lazy takedown attempt and Hain takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Irvin shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hain's guard. Hain is trying to control the position but Irvin postures up. Irvin preventing the sweep. Irvin must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Irvin has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Hain is proving hard to escape from.

Hain pushes Irvin up against the cage in a clinch. Irvin is trying to break the clinch but Hain has him pressed against the cage. Irvin breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Irvin is breathing heavily. Hain is nestled in close to Irvin, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Irvin's guard. Hain passes the guard and advances to mount!

Parantainen kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Hellacopters - Soulseller. James comes into a darkened arena with his song building. We Want The Funk by George Clinton & the P-Funk Allstars kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Freddy James will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

James lands with a cross. James drops Parantainen with a nice combination! James dives into Parantainen's guard, looking to finish!
It looks like Jaakko Parantainen has been cut. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Parantainen tries to land a sweep but no joy. James stands up from guard. Let's bang! James misses with a double jab.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! O Toole throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hansen's waist but Hansen gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing O Toole off to one side. O Toole shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hansen as he avoids it easily. Horrible takedown by O Toole or perhaps it was just good defense by Hansen which made him look bad. Joaquin Hansen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Seamus O Toole. O Toole walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Nice combo by Hansen! Oh, that's hurt him - O Toole falls to the canvas and Hansen follows him into side control.

Hansen tries to clinch but O Toole is having none of it. Jab by Hansen. Hansen lunges at O Toole with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by O Toole's hand. Hansen has O Toole up against the cage in a clinch.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Decent striking displayed by Anduw there. Anduw thuds his right hand into Frost's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Anduw gets caught flat footed, as Frost shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Anduw utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Frost is looking to work some ground and pound but Anduw has wrist control. Frost scores with a decent looking elbow strike. This has been an exciting period of action! Anduw keeping full guard, as Frost tries to pass. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Frost accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Frost missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Frost looking to sit in guard and control but Anduw gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Anduw is taking a break and basically stalling.
