Here Comes The Pain kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Brute Force!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Viktor Lagutenko and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rua shoots for a takedown but Force saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Force closes the distance and clinches.
Rua fails to pull guard.
Force manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Force has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Rua clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Force trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
Force throwing wild punches that miss their target.
Force not allowing Rua to control his hands.
Rua tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Force working the ground and pound effectively.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rua tries to improve his position but instead Force has taken his back!

Force really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rua. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Force's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Rua prevents Force from getting a body triangle.
Force lands an elbow to the side of the head.

Force is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Rua is defending well though. Force let's go of the attempt for now.
Force is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
Force is trying to stick to Rua's back but Rua is turning into Force. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Force's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Rua.

Despite being in the dominant position, Brute Force just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Force misses with a two punch combination.

Force shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Rua's guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Rua keeping moving, preventing Force from controlling successfully.

Rua had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Force is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Rua Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Force's back instead.

Brute Force dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Force has Rua up against the cage in a clinch.
Rua is stalling here.

Rua breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
BJ Rua is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Force clinches with his opponent.
Rua wants to break free but Force has control.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Force prevents the takedown attempt.
Force looking to throw knees to the head but Rua is blocking nicely.

Force has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Rua is trying to keep an underhook but Force manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Rua tries to roll over but Force keeps him under control.

Force is working for a kimura but Rua is defending it quite comfortably.
Force trying to pass the guard but Rua defending well.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Force lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Force looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Rua wants to control but Force is keeping busy.
Rua tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Force has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Force controlling the pace for now.
Force can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Rua is looking to escape.

Force dominating with strikes here.
Rua is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Force blocks Rua's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
Force trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Force working away from the top, dropping strikes.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
A nice elbow there by Force.
Force tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Force wants to control the pace but Rua is squirming around nicely.
Force looking to finish Rua with some ground and pound. This is bad for Rua!

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Force fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Brute Force showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rua missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Force trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Force lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Rua!

Nin closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Nin lands in his opponent's guard.
Nin trying to control the position from guard on top but Megadagik is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Nin trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Nin works a leg free and moves into half guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Megadagik can do anything to dispel that myth.
Megadagik pushes Nin off looking to stand but Nin dives back in and keeps control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Nin wants to work for an arm triangle but Megadagik is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Nin trying to mount his opponent but Megadagik defends it.

Megadagik preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
Nin is pressing down on Megadagik's thigh, looking to free his foot. Megadagik is holding on for now.
Megadagik looks like he's trying to stand up.
Megadagik really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Nin is looking to advance position but Megadagik won't allow it.
Megadagik wants to get back to his feet.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Megadagik throws out a loose jab but Nin uses good head movement to avoid it.
Megadagik waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Nin.
Nin throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Megadagik's waist but Megadagik gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Nin off to one side.
Nin with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Megadagik to score with a decent uppercut.
Nin changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Megadagik tries to avoid it but Nin manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Megadagik to the ground. Megadagik escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Megadagik scores with the left hand. Nin knows he should have avoided that one.

It looks like Ro Nin has been cut.
Nahuel Megadagik is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Nin steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Megadagik. That one must have hurt.
Nin is breathing heavily.
Megadagik connects with a stiff jab that staggers Nin - oh and he follows up with a huge uppercut that knocks him out cold! Man, that was brutal!
