Rudder is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Hoffman can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Hoffman's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Rudder is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Hoffman can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Velanze throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Arlowski's waist but Arlowski gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Velanze off to one side.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Arlowski fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Velanze.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Ron Arlowski.

Bravado closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dick is not content to let Bravado control the position.

Bravado tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Dick wants to get back to his feet but Bravado drags him back down.
Bravado is looking to take a break and control but Dick is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Dick is trying to buck Bravado off.

Bravado is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Dick looks calm but he's in trouble here. Bravado gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Dick is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Bravado lets go of the hold and Dick can pop his arm back in it's socket.

McCormick throws a strike but Jackson rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

McCormick tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Jackson paws at him with a jab and circles away.
McCormick avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Jackson gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
McCormick throws a strike but Jackson rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Jackson wants to stand but McCormick is controlling his posture from full guard.

McCormick wants to sweep here but Jackson controlling him for the moment.
Jackson wanted to stand there but McCormick had control of the position.

And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Quinton Jackson will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Diocuil McCormick's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
