2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Maestre Hulk! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Matheus Silva and Felipe Paraventi.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hulk tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Barrera swivels and escapes. Barrera lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Hulk backs up against the cage.
 It looks like Maestre Hulk has been cut. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Barrera rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hulk moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Hulk showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Barrera.
No luck for Hulk with that takedown attempt. Barrera with a jab. Hulk fails with a takedown attempt. Gavilan Barrera has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Maestre Hulk. Barrera throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Hulk.
 That has opened up Maestre Hulk's cut even more.
Hulk feints and as Barrera raises his hands in defense, Hulk changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Hulk throwing strikes but missing. Hulk missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Hulk sitting in guard, not really doing much. Hulk missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Hulk stands up over Barrera, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Barrera preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Hulk missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hulk accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Hulk with a nice head shot there. Hulk throwing strikes from guard but Barrera blocks nicely. Hulk trying to control but Barrera is working from the bottom. Barrera is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Hulk is controlling him. Hulk connects with a couple of short punches.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Hulk working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Hulk thows a big elbow that misses. Hulk connects with a couple of short punches. Hulk throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Barrera works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Hulk wants to pass the guard but Barrera is keeping the position. Hulk working some strikes from top position. Hulk trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Hulk has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Barrera has momentary wrist control but Hulk slips an elbow through the middle. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Hulk wants to control from the top but Barrera keeps moving. Hulk advances position into side control!
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Hulk trying to control the position but Barrera is working away. Hulk looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Barrera is avoiding damage well.
Hulk tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Hulk has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Hulk trying to control the action but Barrera is working from the bottom. Hulk working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Barrera is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Hulk is working Barrera over with some ground and pound from side control. Hulk throwing shots but missing, from side control. The ground and pound from Hulk seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Hulk in side control, throwing shots but Barrera defends. Hulk advances to full mount. Barrera is breathing heavily. Hulk lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
 It looks like Gavilan Barrera has been cut. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Hulk with shots to the head and body - Barrera looks very uncomfortable down there. Hulk dominating with strikes here. Hulk cracks Barrera with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Maestre Hulk dominated that round. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Hulk closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Hulk lands a decent elbow from side control. Hulk working the head with strikes. Hulk grinds an elbow into Barrera's temple. Barrera avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Hulk. Barrera is working to avoid the ground and pound but Hulk connects with a decent elbow. Hulk cracks Barrera with a big elbow. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hulk connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Barrera some visible discomfort.
 Gavilan Barrera's cut is getting worse. Hulk lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Barrera down.
 Gavilan Barrera's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. Hulk landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
 Jeez, Gavilan Barrera's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Gavilan Barrera's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice takedown defense from Buheler. No joy for Penna on that attempt. Buheler keeps the fight on the outside.
Buheler forces Penna back against the cage and clinches. Penna blocks an elbow strike from Buheler.
Penna has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Buheler avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Penna is working for a takedown up against the cage. Penna swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Buheler is now in Penna's guard. A big mistake from Penna there, giving up the dominant position!
Penna had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Buheler is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Penna Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Buheler's back instead. Buheler trying to control but not successfully.

 That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Buheler fending off the submission attempt from Penna. Buheler turns into Penna and is now in his guard.
Buheler will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Buheler gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. No luck for Penna with that takedown attempt. Penna has a takedown stuffed. Penna fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Penna gets caught flat footed, as Buheler shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Buheler wants to stand but Penna has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Penna looking to sweep here. No luck so far. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Penna has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Buheler is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Penna. Penna tries to get back to half guard but can't.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Buheler wants to stand but Penna is controlling his arm. Penna tries to bench press Buheler off him but Buheler keeps the position.
 The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Buheler lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Brenno Penna seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Penna shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Buheler counters by clinching up. Penna tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Buheler smiles and moves away.

Penna takes an elbow to the temple. Buheler using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Penna has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Buheler clinches up with Penna and pushes him back against the cage. Buheler is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Buheler is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Buheler avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Penna is trying to drag Buheler to the mat but Buheler just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Buheler unloads a knee to the mid-section. Penna lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Buheler landing some nice looking knees to the body.

Penna throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Buheler has his hands clasped together but Penna breaks the hold and Buheler is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Penna!

Holmes comes into the arena with Killing Me Softly blaring out of the sound system. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Georgy Zhukov! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Paulo Santos and Matheus Silva.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Holmes stuffs the takedown attempt from Zhukov. Zhukov gets slowly back to his feet. Holmes lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
 It looks like Georgy Zhukov has been cut. Holmes misses with a looping right. Holmes rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Zhukov moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Holmes waves his right hand out infront of him, looking to distract Zhukov. Oh, he's unloaded a beast of a left hand - it worked! He's dropped Zhukov to the canvas! Can he finish him!?
 Zhukov is rocked! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Holmes gets to his feet. Zhukov looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Zhukov is still on wobbly legs! Can Holmes finish him? Holmes feints a kick and comes over the top with a right hand, followed by a left hook - both land, sending Zhukov crashing to the mat! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Herman Holmes!

I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Mauro Gomes was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gaia checks a low kick from Gomes. Gomes throws a leg kick but Gaia moved away. Gomes ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Gaia moves away. Gomes tries to land a front kick but Gaia steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Gaia ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Gaia ducks under a wild hook from Gomes. Gomes throws a looping overhand right but Gaia ducks down to avoid it. Gaia checks the leg kick. Gaia dodges the punch combination from Gomes.
Gomes misses with a straight left. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gaia shoots for a takedown but Gomes saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Gomes just misses with a punch to the body.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Gomes lands with an uppercut that bounces Gaia off the cage and back into rage. Gomes tries to clinch but Gaia moves out of range. Gomes works over Gaia's head and body with a nice combination.
 It looks like Robin Gaia has been cut. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Gomes pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Gomes lands with a hook. Gaia tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Gomes loads up on a big right hand but Gaia slips the punch. Gaia keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Gomes. Gomes is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Gaia. Gomes looks to land a right hand but Gaia moved out of range. Gomes scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Mauro Gomes is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Gomes throws a series of strikes that have Gaia backpedaling.
Gaia throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Gomes pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Gaia has a takedown stuffed. Gomes smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Gaia avoids the body shot from Gomes.

Mousasi Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take miguel's back instead. miguel manages to reverse the position and now he's in Mousasi's guard. Nice work there by miguel.

Steiner walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Palowakski waves his right hand out infront of him, looking to distract Steiner. Oh, he's unloaded a beast of a left hand - it worked! He's dropped Steiner to the canvas! Can he finish him!?

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Zola connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. da Fonseca fails with a takedown attempt from distance. da Fonseca stalks Zola and leaps in with a furious combination of punches.
