Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, crash punch! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 1, fighting out of New York, Sam Gray! The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Bruno Lombardi and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! punch scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Nice sprawl there from punch as Gray shoots in. punch's corner calls for a 1-2. punch obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Gray swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and punch counters with a shoot takedown. Gray fights it but they end up in guard. Gray trying to control the position.
punch passes Gray's left leg - he's now in half guard. punch missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Still in half guard, punch seems content to control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gray tries to get to full guard but punch has control of the leg.
That's one minute gone in the round. punch throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. punch thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. punch trying to control from Gray's half guard. Gray has other ideas though and has regained full guard. punch wants to control from the top but Gray keeps moving. punch's corner is telling him to maintain position. punch decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. and Gray counters with a two punch combo. punch tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. punch shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. punch showed some decent athleticism there. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! punch trying to control from half guard but Gray is working away.

Gray avoiding damage under a succession of punches from punch. punch tries to pass to full mount but Gray defends it. Gray moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Gray wants to sweep but no luck.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. punch stands and steps away. Gray gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. punch throws a nice inside leg kick. punch throws a series of punches but Gray moves out of range. punch shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Gray as he avoids it easily. punch swinging wilding here.

Gray is looking to clinch. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Gray looks to clinch and punch counters with a shoot takedown. Gray fights it but they end up in guard. punch throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Gray works some decent striking defense from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. punch is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. punch stops Gray from passing to mount.

punch is looking for a sweep. Gray is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Gray jabs at punch's body. Gray tries to clinch but punch moves out of range. punch lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
A low kick from punch is predictable there and Gray counters with a two punch combo. punch feints and then cracks Gray's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Gray down. punch fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. punch works the jab nicely. crash punch is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. punch throws a leg kick and Gray counters with a series of strikes. punch will be more careful next time no doubt. punch misses with a double jab
and punch takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Jab from punch.

and punch counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by punch. Gray goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
punch misses with a short punch on the inside. Gray has punch pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. punch manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. punch tries a body shot but Gray blocks it.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Gray landing knees to the body.
Gray wants to get back to striking at distance but punch won't allow it.
Gray misses with a knee to the head. Gray can't break the clinch.
punch using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Gray has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Gray does a little dance to reset his feet. punch is looking to clinch. punch lands with a straight right. Gray didn't see that one coming. A jab from punch does it's job there. punch shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Gray but Gray pushes him off and we're back to square one. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for crash punch. That's going to take a lot out of him. punch feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Gray manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no punch has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Gray regains half guard there - taking advantage of punch's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! master tries to bum rush Zion with a series of wild strikes but Zion uses good footwork to avoid the assault. master misses with the combination.
Zion throws a front kick aimed at master's knee but master avoids it well. A combination from master does no damage. Zion feints and as master raises his hands in defense, Zion changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. master wants to stand but Zion is controlling the position. master preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Zion lands a couple of decent looking shots. Zion won't allow master to sweep him here. Zion postures up.
Zion distracts master with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! master controls Zion momentarily but Zion frees himself. master avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Zion stands up over master, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. master has momentary wrist control but Zion slips an elbow through the middle. Zion landing with the ground and pound. Zion scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Zion jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but master manages to avoid the submission attempt. Zion misses with the ground and pound. master struggling a bit here. Zion swings around for an armbar but master sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Zion's guard. master gets to his feet. Zion looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! master's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and master duly obliges. master lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Zion takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. A right-left combo lands from master. Zion keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Zion keeping moving, preventing master from controlling successfully. master tries to stand but Zion is controlling from the bottom. master slips nicely into half guard. master content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Zion is staying active underneath master, who seems content to just control the action from this position. master keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

He's managed to get a loose triangle. master doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. master manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Zion lands a couple of shots from the bottom.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! A slow jab from Silva misses its intended target. Gracie is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Montabon can do anything to dispel that myth. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Montabon controlling the position well. That's three minutes gone in the round. Mackenzie wants to lay and pray for a moment but Montabon keeps working. Mackenzie postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Montabon tries to bench press Mackenzie off him but Mackenzie keeps the position. Mackenzie creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Montabon is looking to reverse the position. Montabon holding on. Jesse Mackenzie overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Mackenzie is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Montabon has escaped the position, nice work there.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Mackenzie shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Mackenzie throws a front kick that sends Montabon stumbling back into the cage.

He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Mackenzie won't allow Montabon to sweep him here. Mackenzie sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Montabon's guard. Montabon works his way to full guard. Good work. Mackenzie throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Montabon works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Aguayo swinging wilding here.
Muller throws a series of punches but Aguayo avoids them all with ease. Muller gets caught flat footed, as Aguayo shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Aguayo trying to control but Muller is working from the bottom. Aguayo content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Muller is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Aguayo pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Muller is keeping the position for now. Aguayo throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Muller looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Muller defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Aguayo's arms. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Aguayo has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Muller! Can he survive? No! He's out! Aguayo gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.

Lake is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by hughes. Lake connects with a solid leg kick. hughes walks into a stiff left hand from Lake.
