0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Cheeto Ortiz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Matt Porter! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Trevor Gratis and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Porter scores with a push kick. Ortiz drops his hands momentarily and Porter takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Porter fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Ortiz manages to avoid it. Porter with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Porter throws a quick inside leg kick. Porter throws a body kick that misses. Porter scores with a leg kick.
Ortiz throws a solid leg kick but Porter takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Ortiz. Horrible takedown by Ortiz or perhaps it was just good defense by Porter which made him look bad. Some wild striking there from Porter.

That's one minute gone in the round. Porter scores with a nice strike. A chopping leg kick lands by Porter. Porter catches Ortiz with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Porter fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Ortiz. Porter scores with a leg kick.
Ortiz is breathing heavily. Porter swings for the body but Ortiz moves out of range.

Porter throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.

Porter throws a nice outside leg kick. Matt Porter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Porter scoring well with a low kick there.
Porter uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Ortiz steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Porter. That one must have hurt. Porter cracks Ortiz with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Porter connects with a solid leg kick. Porter swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Ortiz. Porter lands the left hand. Porter throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Ortiz tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Porter lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Porter darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Porter thumps Ortiz with a low kick. Porter scores with a leg kick.
Ortiz stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Porter. Matt Porter is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Porter scores with a leg kick.
Porter lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Ortiz takes a shot to the body in his stride.
A slapping body kick lands there for Porter. Porter has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Ortiz tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

A left lands for Porter. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Ortiz crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Porter - the referee stops the clock and Ortiz gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Porter. Ortiz manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Porter changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Porter is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round!Ortiz had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté. Porter throws a series of punches but Ortiz avoids them all with ease. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Porter scores with a spinning back kick! Ortiz takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
It looks like Cheeto Ortiz has been cut. Porter misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Matt Porter dominated that round. The cut man is working on Cheeto Ortiz's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
A good leg kick by Porter. Porter drops Ortiz with a left and a right! Oh, Ortiz is hurt - Porter dives into side control looking to finish!
Ortiz is rocked! Porter is looking to take a break and control but Ortiz is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Ortiz misses with a strike from the bottom. Porter trying to control the position but Ortiz is working away. Porter wants to stand but Ortiz has his arm trapped.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Ortiz chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Porter can pounce on him.

Porter looks to land a right hand but Ortiz moved out of range. Porter throws a nice outside leg kick. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Ortiz avoids a kick to the body.
Good leg kick by Porter there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

A nice leg kick lands there from Porter. Ortiz tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Porter stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Porter throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ortiz stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Porter. Porter lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. A thudding body kick lands there by Porter!
Porter scores with the left hand. Ortiz knows he should have avoided that one. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Ortiz takes a shot right to the bread basket. Matt Porter is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Ortiz takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Porter bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Ortiz's head. Porter lands a head kick that stumbles Ortiz and the fighters go to the mat. Oh Ortiz is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Porter slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Ortiz.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ortiz is not content to let Porter control the position. Ortiz seems to have got his legs back now. Porter is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Ortiz is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Porter is trying to control the action in half guard but Ortiz is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Ortiz takes one on the button. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Matt Porter showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Cheeto Ortiz's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Porter throws a front kick that sends Ortiz stumbling back into the cage. Porter throws a right hand that Ortiz ducks under and follows up with a left that Ortiz also avoids with ease. A cross from Porter lands. Porter has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Porter throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Ortiz fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Porter turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Porter changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Porter goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Crunch! Porter slams his shin into Ortiz's torso. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! A punch lands to the side of Ortiz 's head but he takes it in his stride. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ortiz takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Ortiz will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body. A big head kick from Porter and Ortiz is sent sprawling to the canvas! Porter has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Ortiz is proving hard to escape from. Ortiz on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Ortiz tries to get out of the position. Ortiz trying to control the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Porter tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Ortiz.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Ortiz decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Porter looks like he's trying to stand up.
Ortiz thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Porter's head. Ortiz takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Ortiz is thwarting Porter's attempts to control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ortiz thows a huge punch but Porter dodges it nicely.
Ortiz looks to land a strike but Porter avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Ortiz thows a big elbow that misses. Porter lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Ortiz! Ortiz wants to control but Porter is having none of it. Porter looking to control but Ortiz is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Ortiz is in all sorts of trouble here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Porter wants to control the pace but Ortiz is squirming around nicely. Porter might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Ortiz kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ortiz flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Porter trying to control but Ortiz is having none of it. Ortiz swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
And that's the end of the fight! Matt Porter comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Porter winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thunder throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Thunder throws out a powerful jab. Thomas takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
It looks like Jason Thomas has been cut. Thomas throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Thunder's waist but Thunder gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Thomas off to one side. Thomas moves away from the strike by Thunder. Thomas shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Thunder holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Thomas tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Thunder has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.
Thunder rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Thomas is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Thunder sees it coming and defends easily. Thomas is tying to control. Thunder wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Thomas is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Thunder is just riding it out for now. Thomas eventually gives up the hold. Thomas is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Thunder defends it well.

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Thomas checks a leg kick. Thunder with a nice cross. Thunder throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Thomas. A head kick misses from Thunder. Thunder looks gassed! Thomas scores with a takedown into Thunder's guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Thomas has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Thunder is proving hard to escape from. Thomas trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Thunder keeping moving, preventing Thomas from controlling successfully. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Thomas is looking to clinch. Thunder throws out a loose jab but Thomas uses good head movement to avoid it. A punch combination from Thunder misses. Thomas feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Thunder keeping moving, preventing Thomas from controlling successfully. Thunder is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Thomas looking to sit in guard and control but Thunder gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Thunder wants to stand but Thomas is controlling his posture from full guard.

Thomas had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Thunder is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Thomas Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Thunder's back instead. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Thunder trying to control the position but Thomas manages to sink in the hooks.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Thomas is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Thunder preventing the rear naked choke attempt from Thomas. Thunder turns into Thomas and is now in his guard.
Thomas has his foot on Thunder's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Thunder works his way back into a safe position though. Thunder tries to stand but Thomas is controlling from the bottom.

Thomas gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Thunder throws a looping overhand right but Thomas ducks down to avoid it. Thomas looks to score with a jab to the body but Thunder is just out of range. Thunder tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Thunder throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Thomas shoots in for a double leg but Thunder sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Tommy Thunder is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. No joy there for Thunder, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Thomas keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Thomas is looking to work his way around to Thunder's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position. Thomas is working hard here to advance position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Thomas working for a submission but Thunder is keeping him at bay. Thomas avoids the attempt from Thunder to control. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Thomas trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Thomas swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Thunder is now in Thomas's guard. A big mistake from Thomas there, giving up the dominant position! Thunder stands up from guard. Let's bang!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Thomas shoots in looking for a takedown. Thunder tries to sprawl out of it but Thomas keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Thunder manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Thunder just misses with a punch to the body.
Thunder is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Thunder swings away with a leg kick that misses. Thomas throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Thunder's waist but Thunder gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Thomas off to one side. Thunder swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Thomas throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Thomas looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Thunder looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Thomas has gone for a leg lock! Thunder slips out almost immediately though and dives into Thomas's guard. Thunder would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Thomas looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Thunder puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Thunder blocks the strikes from Thomas.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Thomas wants to improve his position but Thunder is controlling well.
Well, if Thunder is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Allah moves away from the strike by Troy. Allah throws a big shot that misses. Allah finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Good shot there by Troy. Troy's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Troy duly obliges.
It looks like Sun God Allah has been cut. Allah gets a takedown into half guard. Allah is pressing down on Troy's thigh, looking to free his foot. Troy is holding on for now. Allah tries to stand but his arm is trapped. Allah is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Troy pushes Allah off looking to stand but Allah dives back in and keeps control.

Troy is trying to get back to full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Allah thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Allah is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Troy has managed to free his arm - good work. Allah looks gassed!

Troy throws a right and a left that Allah avoids nicely. A punch lands to the side of Allah 's head but he takes it in his stride. Troy grits his teeth and throws a big right-left combo! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Do tries to clinch there but Batchiska circles away.
Batchiska closes this distance looking for a takedown but Do circles away. Do thows a body shot but no joy. Horrible takedown by Batchiska or perhaps it was just good defense by Do which made him look bad. Batchiska shoots in for a double leg but Do sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Niko Batchiska. That's going to take a lot out of him. Batchiska tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Do swivels and escapes. Do scores with a sloppy right hand. Batchiska should have avoided that one. Do connects with a jab. Batchiska fails with the takedown. Batchiska looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Do bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Do uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Batchiska. Batchiska looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

Batchiska throws a hook to the side of Do's head but Do sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Do lands a right hand that snaps the head of Batchiska backwards. Do throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Do effectively controlling the action here. Do lands with a left to the head. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Do makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. A nice right hand lands inside from Do. Do breaks from the clinch.
Do avoids the head kick by Batchiska.
Do slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Do dips to his left and cracks Batchiska with an uppercut! Batchiska misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Do lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Do.
Batchiska is rocked!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Batchiska takes a shot right to the bread basket. Oh Batchiska is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Batchiska doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Batchiska seems to have got his legs back now. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Do clinches up with Batchiska and pushes him back against the cage. Do displaying some good clinch control by pressing Batchiska up against the cage. An uppercut to the body lands inside from Do. Good body shot from Do.
Do is pushing Batchiska up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Do scores with a shoulder strike. Do stalling in the clinch.
Do scores with a hook to the body. Batchiska is looking to control Do's arms but Do gets an underhook and turns him. Now Batchiska has his back to the cage. Do manages to break the clinch.
Do works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Batchiska takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nice shot lands for Do. Batchiska misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Batchiska walks into a stiff left hand from Do. Do scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Do wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Batchiska, who protects the arm well. Batchiska is looking to reverse the position. Batchiska takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Batchiska is not content to let Do control the position. Do is working to tighten is grip on Batchiska's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Batchiska has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Do is really squeezing tight and eventually Batchiska passes out! Do breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hellmuth connects with a solid leg kick. A big left from Hellmuth misses. Hellmuth looks to score with a jab to the body but Weiss is just out of range. Hellmuth misses the shot to the body. Weiss fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Hellmuth lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Hellmuth connects with a looping right hand.
Hellmuth thows a left - swing and a miss! Hellmuth thuds a left hand into Weiss's body. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Hellmuth dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Weiss is breathing heavily. Hellmuth scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. That's three minutes gone in the round. Hellmuth lands a heavy elbow. Hellmuth sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hellmuth with good strikes from the mount here!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Weiss tries to hold on but Hellmuth pushes him away. Weiss bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Hellmuth manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Hellmuth tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hellmuth cracks Weiss with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Weiss fails with an attempt to clinch.

and Hellmuth counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Joshua Weiss is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Hellmuth connects with a solid leg kick. Phil Hellmuth seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hellmuth avoids the body shot from Weiss.
Weiss tries to clinch but Hellmuth moves away and Hellmuth counters with a one-two to the body. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Hellmuth moves into range and throws a big uppercut. OH! Weiss goes down! Can Hellmuth finish him!? Hellmuth is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Despite being in the dominant position, Phil Hellmuth just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Weiss takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Nice shot by Hellmuth. Weiss clinches but Hellmuth breaks the clinch and Hellmuth counters with a nice body shot. Phil Hellmuth seems to be getting the better of the standup. Weiss looks for a takedown but Hellmuth sprawls well. Hellmuth lands a nice shot to the body.
