The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Warhola fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

I think Lava might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Numero 1. Owens comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Blastoma takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Blastoma drops back looking for a leg! Mccaughan is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Mccaughan manages to kick Blastoma off! Blastoma jumps back into Mccaughan's guard.

Mccaughan has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Blastoma can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Blastoma has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Mccaughan connects with a nice short shot to Blastoma's temple.
Blastoma lands one or two decent shots to the body here. Although from his own half guard, he's not going to be causing too much damage.

Mccaughan fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Blastoma looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Mccaughan changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Blastoma looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Mccaughan escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Blastoma gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Blastoma stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mccaughan swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Blastoma has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Blastoma and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Eric Mccaughan.
