0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nick Floral! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Alyssa Summers and Chad Campbell.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Floral keeps the fight on the outside. Floral throws a push kick but Tie slaps the foot to one side. Tie just misses with a punch to the body.
Tie closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Floral is trying to drag Tie to the mat but Tie just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. A battle for position here, against the cage. Tie pushes off an fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Floral tries to pull guard but Tie holds him up against the cage and eventually Floral drops back down to his feet.

Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Tie walks away with a smile on his face. Floral gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Floral keeps the fight on the outside. Floral misses with a takedown attempt - Tie sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Roberts darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Johnson can do anything to dispel that myth. Johnson keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. Roberts working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dream misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Evans.

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Zim Sheol (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Hobbs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Sheol might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Papercut. Jay Hobbs told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jay Hobbs! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Bruno Lombardi and Chad Campbell.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hobbs has closed the distance and engaged Sheol in a clinch.
Hobbs jumps guard but Sheol stands there with Hobbs around his waist. Hobbs gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Hobbs breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
No luck for Hobbs with that takedown attempt.
Hobbs moves into the clinch.
Sheol breaks the clinch.
Hobbs closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Hobbs lands in his opponent's guard. Sheol is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Hobbs content to stall in guard here.

Hobbs drops back looking for a leg! Sheol is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Sheol manages to kick Hobbs off! Hobbs jumps back into Sheol's guard.
 It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Sheol fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Hobbs shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Hobbs was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! You get the feeling that Sheol really doesn't like being in this position too much.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Sheol is trying desperately to improve position. Sheol flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Hobbs blocks Sheol's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom. Hobbs putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Hobbs tries to control but Sheol wriggling away. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sheol really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
 The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Hobbs is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Sheol has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Sheol tries to reverse the position but Hobbs maintains control.

Hobbs raining down shots from the mount! Hobbs sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sheol looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Hobbs controlling from the back. Sheol trying to control the hands but Hobbs won't let him. Hobbs lands punches and elbows. A lull in the action here.
Hobbs is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Hobbs gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Hobbs gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Hobbs apologises and we restart here on the feet.

Hobbs throws a sloppy head kick and Sheol moves out of range easily. Sheol throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Hobbs. Sheol fails to land with a series of punches.

and Hobbs decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Sheol's guard. Sheol wants to stand up but Hobbs is controlling him. Sheol is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Sheol on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Sheol tries to get out of the position.
Sheol is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Hobbs stands and steps away. Sheol gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Hobbs avoids a punch combination nicely.
Hobbs shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Sheol's guard.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Hobbs showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Sheol will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Hobbs trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Sheol is looking for a triangle here but Hobbs uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Hobbs goes for an armbar but Sheol turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Sheol. Sheol stopping the sweep attempt from Hobbs.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Sheol thows a big elbow that misses. Hobbs is looking to stand up but Sheol isn't so interested in that idea. Hobbs has control of Sheol's left arm, preventing Sheol from doing any damage. Hobbs preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Sheol throws a big right hand that misses.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Hobbs controls Sheol momentarily but Sheol frees himself. Hobbs wants to stand but Sheol is controlling the position.
 Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Sheol falls off balance throwing a combination
and Hobbs counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Sheol!
Hobbs gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks! Zim Sheol is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Sheol throws a one two combo.
Sheol shoots in but no luck this time. Some wild striking there from Sheol.
Sheol tries to clinch up but Hobbs circles away and keeps his distance. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Sheol tries to bum rush Hobbs with a series of wild strikes but Hobbs uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Hobbs takes the fight into the clinch. Both guys are working to get underhooks. Sheol jumps guard but Hobbs stands there with Sheol around his waist. Sheol gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Jay Hobbs showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

and Hobbs counters with a shoot takedown. Sheol fights it but they end up in guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Sheol is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Hobbs manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Sheol is striking from the bottom but Hobbs uses the opportunity to pass into half guard. Sheol wants to improve his position but Hobbs is controlling well.

 It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Hobbs connects with a single shot there. Hobbs throws a push kick but Sheol slaps the foot to one side. Sheol fails with a takedown attempt. Hobbs shoots in and drives through. Sheol sprawls well. Zim Sheol has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Jay Hobbs is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Zim Sheol has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jay Hobbs. Sheol throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Vandelay uses his free foot to push down on Warden's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Warden. Warden takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
