The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gnocci connects with a high kick.
It looks like Jeremy Jackson has been cut. Gnocci closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Gnocci trying to control the position but Jackson is working away. Jackson is trying to improve his position. Jackson is not content to let Gnocci control the position. Gnocci tries to move into full mount but can't pass Jackson's legs. Gnocci works to advance to full mount. Jackson defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Gnocci throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Jackson tries to get back to half guard but can't. Gnocci throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Gnocci jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Jackson is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Jackson and Gnocci has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Gnocci trying to control from half guard but Jackson is working away. Gnocci is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Jackson is looking to control Gnocci's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Jackson avoid being mounted? Gnocci wants to take a breather but Jackson is having none of it.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Gnocci tries to clinch but Jackson is having none of it. That's three minutes gone in the round. Gnocci stands up and beckons Jackson to join him on the feet. Gnocci closes the distance and clinches. Jackson tries to break the clinch but Gnocci is controlling the position. Jackson tries for a takedown but Gnocci manages to get underhooks.

Jackson takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Jackson tries to hold on but Gnocci postures up. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Gnocci cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Gnocci has hold of Jackson's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Jackson manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Gnocci missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Jackson is in trouble now - Gnocci has advanced to mount! Gnocci working for a guillotine from mount but Jackson is in no mood to give up. Marco Gnocci is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Jackson is desperately trying to improve his position but Gnocci has a good base and remains in mount. Gnocci blocks Jackson's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom. Gnocci controlling from the full mount. Gnocci working for a submission but Jackson is keeping him at bay.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Marco Gnocci. Well Gnocci has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Grove tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Tix paws at him with a jab and circles away. Tix waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Grove. Grove looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Grove keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Tix fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Grove, pushing him back against the cage. Grove tries for a takedown. No joy.

Tix tries to bum rush Grove with a series of wild strikes but Grove uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Grove closes the distance and clinches. Grove gets control of Tix's arms and successfully pulls guard. Grove will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Tix stands up out of Grove's guard for a moment - Grove manages to land a nice upkick. Grove kicks Tix off and gets to his feet.

Grove throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Tix's waist but Tix gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Grove off to one side. Clay Tix seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Tix attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Grove fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Nice takedown defense from Tix. No joy for Grove on that attempt. Tix throws a head kick that misses and Grove counters with a good, hard body kick but Tix shrugs it off. Tix pushes Grove up against the cage in a clinch. Tix gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Grove.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hieron lets loose with a powerful body kick. Hector will feel that in the morning. Hieron drops Hector with a beautiful combination! Hector stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Hieron is looking for the KO! Hector is breathing heavily. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Hieron ducks under a wild hook from Hector. Hector gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Hector is rocked! Hieron makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Oh Hector is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Hieron slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Hector seems to have got his legs back now. Hector is looking for a sweep. Hector tries to control but Hieron manages to take his back. Hieron not allowing Hector to control his hands. Jay Hieron has got the better of the ground game so far. You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
