1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mikel Machida! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Reed Andrews and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mastadon tries to bum rush Machida with a series of wild strikes but Machida uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Phil Mastadon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mastadon fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Machida, pushing him back against the cage. Machida misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Mastadon.
Mastadon tries to pull guard but Machida holds him up against the cage and eventually Mastadon drops back down to his feet.
Machida goes for a takedown attempt but Mastadon pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Machida decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Machida looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Machida is pressing down on Mastadon's thigh, looking to free his foot. Mastadon is holding on for now.

Machida wants to pass the guard but Mastadon is defending well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Machida seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Machida works his way into side control. Mastadon tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Machida wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Mastadon is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. A slapping leg kick lands for Mastadon.
Mastadon tries to clinch up but Machida circles away and keeps his distance. The fight stays on the outside here - Mastadon looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Mastadon misses with a takedown attempt and Machida counters with a nice double leg into side control. Mastadon won't be happy with that. Machida is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Mastadon has escaped the position, nice work there. Machida looks gassed! Machida prevents Mastadon from escaping the position. Mastadon struggling a bit here. Mastadon is not content to let Machida control the position.

Possibly, maybe, no Machida has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Mastadon tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Machida wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Mastadon is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Mastadon is looking to regain half guard here but Machida keeps moving and retains side control.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Mastadon gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Machida counters with a shoot takedown. Mastadon fights it but they end up in guard. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Phil Mastadon. That's going to take a lot out of him. Machida trying to control the position from guard on top but Mastadon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Machida sitting in guard here, content to control. Machida postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Mastadon is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! Mastadon lands with a kick to the temple. Machida shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Machida changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Mastadon looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Machida swings around for an armbar but Mastadon sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Machida's guard. Machida trying to control the position.
Mastadon has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Mastadon advances to half guard. Machida wants to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Machida is looking for a sweep. Mastadon is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Mastadon seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Machida does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Machida is trying to maintain the position but Mastadon is very close to passing his half guard. Mastadon wants to work for an arm triangle but Machida is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Mastadon shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Machida counters with a single leg into guard. Mastadon didn't expect that. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Phil Mastadon. That's going to take a lot out of him. Machida's corner is telling him to maintain position. Machida is pushing down on Mastadon's leg trying to pass to half guard. Mastadon wriggles free and stands up. Mastadon has his takedown stuffed and Machida counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. That's two minutes gone in the round. Machida controlling the pace. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Machida is looking for a kimura here.

Machida swats away the attempt to clinch by Mastadon. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Mastadon.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Mastadon gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Mastadon keeping full guard, as Machida tries to pass. Machida stands and steps away. Mastadon gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Mikel Machida is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Mastadon looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Mastadon wants to stand but Machida has a closed guard, so he can't escape. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Mastadon trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Mysterio tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Mysterio looking to finish Florini with some ground and pound. This is bad for Florini! Florini looks gassed! Mysterio looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Mysterio has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Florini's face.

It looks like Sloth Peterson has been cut. Joe Hockley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Nice sprawl there from Hockley as Peterson shoots in. Hockley with a lazy takedown attempt and Peterson counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Hockley is lucky that one didn't land flush. Hockley misses with a few strikes there.

Joe Hockley dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Sloth Peterson's cut. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Hockley shoots for a double leg takedown but Peterson sprawls well. He's pushed Hockley's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Hockley has his takedown stuffed and Peterson counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Hockley is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Peterson stands and steps away. Hockley gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Nice takedown defense from Hockley. No joy for Peterson on that attempt. Hockley tries for a takedown but Peterson circles away easily and Peterson counters with a nice double leg into side control. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dred throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Bourdeau. Dred thows a left - swing and a miss! Dred misses with an uppercut. Bourdeau saw that one coming. A jab-cross combination lands for Dred and sends Bourdeau crashing to the mat! Dred follows him down to the mat - Bourdeau regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!
It looks like Jeffrey Bourdeau has been cut. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dred seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Dred knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bourdeau on the ground. Bourdeau is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Bourdeau is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Dred pulls his head out easily. Dred wants to stand up but Bourdeau is controlling the position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Bourdeau pushes Dred up against the cage in a clinch. Dred's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Dred dodges the punch combination from Bourdeau.
Bourdeau tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Dred swivels and escapes. Dred throws a left that rocks Bourdeau and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Dred dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Bourdeau regain composure!

Bowhime thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Ivey's head. Bowhime really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ivey. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Bowhime trying to mount his opponent but Ivey defends it. Bowhime is working for a kimura but Ivey is defending it quite comfortably.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Lacey wants to get back to striking at distance but Leben won't allow it.

He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lacey doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lacey manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Lacey trying to stand up but can't free himself from Leben's guard. Lacey wants to control from the top but Leben keeps moving. Lacey trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Lacey postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Leben takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Lacey looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Leben tries to improve position but can't. Leben is not content to let Lacey control the position. Lacey lands some shots froms side control. Lacey advances nicely into full mount. Leben keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Lacey has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Leben uses from the top position. Lacey looking for a sweep. Not yet Lacey, not yet. Leben throws a strike but Lacey rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Lacey drops back looking for a leg! Leben is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Leben manages to kick Lacey off! Lacey jumps back into Leben's guard. Mike Lacey is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Leben working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lacey doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lacey manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Ba feints a kick and comes over the top with a right hand, followed by a left hook - both land, sending Trum crashing to the mat! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Action Crackson! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sly Stone! The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Dean Styles and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Crackson has a takedown stuffed. Stone with a nice cross.
It looks like Action Crackson has been cut. Stone misses with a low kick.
Stone displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Crackson gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Jab from Crackson.
It looks like Sly Stone has been cut. Crackson keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Stone attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Crackson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Stone uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Crackson. Stone moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Crackson tries to clinch up. Crackson misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Stone.
Stone is looking to chop away at Crackson's legs. Stone attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Crackson scores with a hook to the body. Stone takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Crackson clinches up with Stone and pushes him back against the cage. Crackson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Crackson misses with a looping right. Stone connects with a looping right hand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stone thuds a left hand into Crackson's body. Crackson fails with a takedown attempt from distance. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Action Crackson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Stone uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. A nice inside leg kick there by Stone. That's going to slow Crackson down. Crackson is breathing heavily. Stone lands a jab to Crackson's midsection. Stone lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Stone finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Action Crackson's cut is getting worse. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Stone swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Crackson. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery. Stone thuds his right hand into Crackson's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Stone misses the jab. Crackson drops his hands momentarily and Stone takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Stone ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Sly Stone seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Crackson uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Stone.
Stone is looking to chop away at Crackson's legs. Crackson waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Stone. Stone throws a lazy right hand but Crackson sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Stone misses with a looping right. Stone just misses with a punch to the body.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Crackson ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Crackson looks to land a right hand but Stone moved out of range. Crackson tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Stone is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round!Crackson had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté. Stone lands with a cross. Stone scores with a hook. A clash of legs there as Crackson blocks the low kick. Crackson dodges the punch combination from Stone.
Crackson punishes Stone's body with a nice straight punch. Crackson takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Crackson lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Crackson fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Stone looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Crackson paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Crackson moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Crackson lands a glancing blow to the side of Stone's head. Crackson catches Stone napping and connects with a big right hand that sends Stone to the canvas!
Stone is rocked! Crackson is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Stone is still in real trouble! Can Crackson finish him? Crackson is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Stone seems to have recovered his senses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Crackson postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Crackson scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Crackson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Crackson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Crackson postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Stone is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Crackson is controlling him. Crackson not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Crackson trying to control but Stone is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Crackson is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Stone is looking to stand up but Crackson isn't so interested in that idea. Crackson chips away with some ground and pound. Stone being controlled here, momentarily. Crackson keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Stone's head. Crackson distracts Stone with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Crackson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Stone is looking to stand up but Crackson isn't so interested in that idea. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sly Stone dominated that round. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Stone misses with a wild body shot. Excellent takedown into side control there by Crackson. Crackson trying to control the action but Stone is working from the bottom. Crackson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Crackson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Crackson is staying tight to Stone's torso, preventing him from escaping. Crackson is trying to get an arm triangle but Stone is defending well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Crackson working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Stone is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Crackson trying to control the position but Stone is working away. Crackson working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Crackson grinds an elbow into Stone's temple. Crackson has hold of Stone's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Stone seems comfortable defending it but Crackson has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Stone is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Stone is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Crackson couldn't care less - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Action Crackson! Action Crackson retains his middleweight title!
