The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thomson takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
No luck for Thomson with that takedown attempt. Nakamura grits his teeth and throws a big right-left combo! Thomson takes both shots clean on the chin and is out cold! Nakamura cracks him once more on his way down, as the crowd goes wild! They enjoyed that one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Champagne gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Champagne scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Champagne stops Trager from getting back to his feet.
Trager is looking for a sweep. Champagne is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Champagne working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Trager is trying to stand up here but Champagne is controlling him well. Trager on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Trager blocking the ground and pound attempt from Champagne. Champagne is nestled in close to Trager, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Trager manages to get to full guard.

Champagne bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Trager is trying to control Champagne's posture but Champagne avoids it. Champagne connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Trager some visible discomfort.

Champagne is working Trager over with some ground and pound from side control. Trager is looking for a sweep. Champagne lands an elbow. Check out the look on Champagne's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Trager pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Trager looking for a guillotine from mount but Champagne is having none of it. Champagne stops Trager from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better. Trager stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing. Trager keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Trager closes the distance and clinches. Trager is trying to break free. Trager's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Trager's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Trager duly obliges. Trager bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Champagne's head backwards. Trager clobbers Champagne with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Trager closes the distance and pushes Champagne back into the cage. Trager successfully pulls guard.
Trager pulls Champagne in close to his closed guard and prevents Champagne from doing any damage or advancing position. Trager manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Trager stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Trager had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Champagne is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Trager Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Champagne's back instead. Trager has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Champagne.

Trager uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Champagne has time to react. Trager lands with an overhand left. Trager with a poor takedown and Champagne counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Trager looking to hit a scissor sweep but Champagne is one step ahead there. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Trager's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

It's a bit of a token attempt though and Champagne regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Nice sprawl there from Micheals as Drakunovski shoots in. Frank Micheals seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Micheals misses with a hook. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Micheals closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Drakunovski jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Micheals walks away with a smile on his face.
