The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Couture shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Rousel's guard.
Couture won't allow Rousel to sweep him here.
Couture is sitting in close to Rousel's body. Rousel has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Couture is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Couture is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Rousel.

McFly comes into the arena with The Power of Love by Huey Lewis and the News blaring out of the sound system. Sheets has chosen Hits from the bong--Cypress Hill as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McFly closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Sheets takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Sheets is looking to regain half guard here but McFly keeps moving and retains side control.

McFly is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Sheets has escaped the position, nice work there.
Sheets manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
McFly prevents Sheets from improving his position.
Sheets is pressing down on McFly's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Sheets looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Sheets isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. McFly stacks Sheets on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by McFly!

McFly is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Sheets is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

McFly is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

McFly wants to pass to mount but Sheets is defending the position.

McFly seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Sheets for as long as he can get away with.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
