The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chorao bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Sullivan is looking to regain half guard here but Chorao keeps moving and retains side control. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sullivan sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Sullivan looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. The fighters are battling for position here. Sullivan manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Sullivan is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Scifo manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Randy Scifo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nope, Doggerson circles away and we're back to standing. Trevor Doggerson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Doggerson pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Doggerson lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Doggerson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Wright walks away with a smile on his face. Doggerson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Doggerson tries to clinch up but Wright circles away and keeps his distance. Wright moves into the clinch successfully.

That was a close round but I would say that Trevor Doggerson will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Trevor Doggerson's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jumperson is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Jumperson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Biggins swivels and escapes. Biggins fails with the takedown and Jumperson counters with a shoot takedown. Biggins fights it but they end up in guard. Jumperson wants to pass the guard but Biggins is keeping the position. Biggins is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Biggins manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck for Chigaru with that takedown attempt. Phife looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Phife tries to pass to full mount but Chigaru defends it. Chigaru blocking the ground and pound attempt from Phife. Phife wants to control but Chigaru is keeping him busy. Chigaru is in trouble now - Phife has advanced to mount! Chigaru is trying desperately to improve position. Phife moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Chigaru has worked his arm free - good work by Chigaru!

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Phife drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Chigaru goes for an armbar but Phife turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Phife. Phife cracks Chigaru with a solid left hand. Phife trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Phife avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Phife changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Chigaru looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Chigaru is trying to improve his position. Phife scores with a couple of short elbows. Phife scores with punches from side control. Phife cracks Chigaru with a big right hand but Chigaru just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Chigaru pushes down on Phife's leg and manages to get into half guard. Phife is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Phife tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Chigaru is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Phife has managed to free his arm - good work. Phife tries to roll over but Chigaru keeps him under control.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Phife missing with a left hand there. Chigaru was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Phife fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Chigaru manages to avoid it. Chigaru doesn't succeed with the takedown and Phife counters with a single leg into guard. Chigaru didn't expect that. Chigaru looking for subs off his back but Phife has passed one foot through into half guard.
Chigaru is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Phife's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Phife's back! I really don't envy Phife right now.

Phife throwing strikes from guard but Chigaru blocks nicely. Phife tries to free his leg and advance position but Chigaru is retaining full guard. Chigaru wants to sweep but no luck.

Phife doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Phife manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Chigaru wants to sweep but no luck. Phife is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Phife stopping the sweep attempt from Chigaru.

Phife changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Chigaru looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Phife lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Chigaru down.
Barney Phife is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Chigaru is trying to improve his position. Phife scoring with punches and elbows. Chigaru is not content to let Phife control the position. Phife is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Chigaru is looking to reverse the position. Phife gets to mount! Chigaru was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
