 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! delos Santos lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by delos Santos. Gepardi throws a chopping leg kick but delos Santos manages to avoid taking any serious damage. A left lands for delos Santos. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Gepardi. No joy there for Gepardi, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Gepardi missing with a left hand there. delos Santos was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Gepardi throws an overhand right that lands on delos Santos's shoulder, as delos Santos tries to avoid the shot. delos Santos fails in his attempt to clinch. delos Santos shoots in looking for a takedown. Gepardi tries to sprawl out of it but delos Santos keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Gepardi manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. delos Santos works over Gepardi's head and body with a nice combination. delos Santos misses with a two punch combination.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gepardi throws a hook to the side of delos Santos's head but delos Santos sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. delos Santos throws a series of strikes that have Gepardi backpedaling.
Gepardi connects with a good right hand that stumbles delos Santos. delos Santos circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Gepardi shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has delos Santos pinned against the cage. delos Santos gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. delos Santos throws a nice looking combination but Gepardi bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Nice combo by Gepardi! Oh, that's hurt him - delos Santos falls to the canvas and Gepardi follows him into side control.

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hale shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Nucsuecow throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Nucsuecow connects with a solid leg kick. Nice body kick there by Nucsuecow. Nucsuecow misses with a double jab.
Nucsuecow throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. Hale tries for a takedown but Nucsuecow sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Nucsuecow throws a sloppy head kick and Hale moves out of range easily.
Hale changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Nucsuecow looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Hale controls the position from side control. Nucsuecow is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Hale is controlling him well. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Nucsuecow is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

 The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Nucsuecow thuds his right hand into Hale's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. A slapping body kick lands there for Nucsuecow. Hale fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kelii Hale. That's going to take a lot out of him. A thudding body kick lands there by Nucsuecow!
Hale is breathing heavily. Nucsuecow lands with a nice body punch. Hale takes a kick to the side of the head. Nucsuecow moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Nucsuecow is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Hale shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Nucsuecow's guard. Hale controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Nucsuecow keeping full guard, as Hale tries to pass. Nucsuecow is looking to stand up but Hale isn't so interested in that idea. Hale is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Nucsuecow is wriggling around but Hale manages to pass to half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Hale seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Kelii Hale will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Nucsuecow lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Hale at a distance.
Nucsuecow tries to work over Hale's front leg with a kick but Hale checks it. Nucsuecow listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Nucsuecow misses with a body kick. Hale will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Nucsuecow getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Hale shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Hale is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Hale's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Hale has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Nucsuecow wants to stand up but Hale is controlling him. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Hale seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Nucsuecow for as long as he can get away with. You get the feeling that Nucsuecow really doesn't like being in this position too much.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Kelii Hale. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hale, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Rabbit throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Rabbit tries to hold on but Warriner postures up. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Rabbit is looking to improve his position but Warriner isn't that keen on the idea. Rabbit takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Warriner lands a big elbow. Warriner with good strikes from the mount here!
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Rabbit bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Warriner tries to land a sweep but no joy.

and Rabbit counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Warriner! Rabbit tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Rabbit prevents Warriner from getting the reversal. Rabbit trying to control but he's not successful this time. Rabbit postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Warriner looks a forlorn figure.

Nice sprawl there from Arlovsky as Maynard shoots in. No joy there for Arlovsky, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Maynard. A left and a right from Arlovsky both land. Nice combination. Arlovsky sizes up Maynard with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Maynard has a takedown stuffed. Andrei Arlovsky has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brad Maynard. Maynard takes one on the button. Arlovsky stuffs the takedown attempt from Maynard. Maynard gets slowly back to his feet.
