The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mir III will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Mir III swinging wilding here.
Stone throws a good cross that connects.
Mir III fails with a takedown attempt. Stone connects with a body shot. Stone rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Mir III moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Mir III checks a leg kick. Stone lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Nice uppercut lands for Stone. That snapped Mir III's head back.
Mir III gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Francisco Mir III seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. This has been an exciting period of action! Horrible takedown by Mir III or perhaps it was just good defense by Stone which made him look bad. Jack Stone has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Francisco Mir III. Mir III falls off balance throwing a combination
and Stone counters with a three punch combo that has Mir III backing up. Mir III nods at Stone to acknowledge the strikes.

Mir III darts in trying to clinch and Stone counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Mir III is still on wobbly legs! Can Stone finish him? Stone fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Mir III looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Mir III seems to have recovered his senses. Mir III looks gassed! Stone lands a head shot.
Mir III is rocked! Stone walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Mir III drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Stone swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Mir III's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Napiera throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Hammerston shoots for a takedown but Napiera saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Napiera throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Hammerston takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Napiera scores with a jab. Hammerston acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Napiera lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
A left and a right from Napiera both land. Nice combination. Hammerston shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Hammerston in particular looking to stall. Napiera trying to control but Hammerston postures up.
Napiera keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Napiera is looking for a sweep. Hammerston is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Napiera is pressing down on Hammerston's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Hammerston has gone for a leg lock! Napiera slips out almost immediately though and dives into Hammerston's guard. Hammerston lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Napiera! Napiera tries to hold on but Hammerston pushes him away. Hammerston won't let Napiera get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Napiera tries to hold on but Hammerston postures up. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Hammerston throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Napiera because Hammerston loaded up on that one. Napiera is looking to improve his position but Hammerston isn't that keen on the idea.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hammerston misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Napiera tries to reverse the position but Hammerston maintains control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hammerston is working for a guillotine from mount but Napiera frees his head quite easily.
Hammerston avoids the attempt from Napiera to control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hammerston working for a submission but Napiera is keeping him at bay.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Hammerston thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Hammerston jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Napiera is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Napiera and Hammerston has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Napiera is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Napiera lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Hammerston shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Napiera's guard. Hammerston is looking to work some ground and pound but Napiera has wrist control. Hammerston postures up in Napiera's guard and throws a big left but Napiera blocks it. Napiera is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Hammerston looking to sit in guard and control but Napiera gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Hammerston looking for a sweep. Not yet Hammerston, not yet. Hammerston looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Hammerston is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Napiera throws a series of punches but Hammerston moves out of range. Napiera lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Hammerston backs up against the cage.
Napiera will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Hammerston shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Napiera counters with an inside leg kick. Hammerston tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Napiera swivels and escapes. Hammerston is rocked! Hammerston seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Napiera shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Hammerston is backing up but Napiera catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Hammerston covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Napiera Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!

Dad tries to close the distance and clinch but Arlovski swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Arlovski scores with a sloppy right hand. Dad should have avoided that one. Dad turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Dad misses with a series of wild punches.
Arlovski throws out a loose jab but Dad uses good head movement to avoid it. Arlovski stalks Dad and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Dad's face. Dad staggers backwards, shaken. Dad drops Arlovski with a beautiful combination! Arlovski stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Dad is looking for the KO!

Kong looks to land a left hand but Wood moved out of range nicely. Wood tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kong paws at him with a jab and circles away.
