These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, jon jones!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Samuel Silva!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Chris Edwards and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva closes the distance and clinches up with jones, looking for a takedown. Silva pushes jones against the ropes but jones circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
jones looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
jones shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Silva counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

It looks like jon jones has been cut.
A left and a right from Silva both land. Nice combination.
Silva lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but jones circles away quickly and effectively.
No joy there for Silva, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
jones has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Silva shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

jones is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

jones is working an open guard so Silva takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Oh jones is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
jones takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
jones seems to have got his legs back now.

Silva moves into the clinch.

Silva pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
jones sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

That's one minute gone in the round.
jones blocks a head kick by Silva.
Silva rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but jones moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Silva closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Silva stands up and beckons jones to his feet.
Silva comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Silva lands a glancing blow to the side of jones's head.
Silva shoots for a double leg takedown but jones sprawls well. He's pushed Silva's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Silva lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as jones backs up against the ropes.
jones walks forward, straight into a front kick from Silva.

Silva closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Silva controls the position.

Silva decides to stand back up. Silva steps back and let's jones get back to his feet.

Silva fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. jones sprawls well initially but Silva persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Silva frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
jones tries to hold on but Silva postures up.
Silva landing strikes from the mount.
Silva sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

Silva is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Silva extends the arm and jones is forced to tap!

Robson clinches up against the ropes.
Thomas tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Robson with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Robson is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Robson breaks from the clinch.

Robson sets himself and throws a head kick that knocks Thomas to the ground! Robson dives into full mount looking to finish!

Thomas is rocked!
Robson postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Thomas in real trouble here! The ref calls for Thomas to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bekah Robson!
Bekah Robson is the new bantamweight champion!
