The bell rings for round one and we are underway! O Toole shoots for a double leg takedown but Barzakov sprawls well. He's pushed O Toole's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Barzakov bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. O Toole is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Barzakov is one step ahead and moves to full mount! O Toole in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Labont checks a leg kick. Labont shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Negreanu as he jumps to the side. Negreanu swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Negreanu keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Negreanu just misses with a punch to the body.
Labont really is a fat lump. Negreanu stuffs the takedown attempt from Labont. Labont gets slowly back to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pierre Labont. That's going to take a lot out of him. Negreanu moves into the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ramadoo seems to have recovered his senses. Castro throws a nice inside leg kick. Castro throws out a powerful jab. Rawrl Castro is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Ramadoo looks gassed! Castro dances in with a quick combination. Ramadoo is being worked over with jabs and crosses. Oooh, a right straight from Castro snaps Ramadoo's head back. Ramadoo stumbles backwards against the cage. Castro steps forward and delivers a right cross that connects with Ramadoo's jaw, simultaneously knocking him out and sending his mouthpiece into the crowd! There's a worthy souvenir for the fans. A big right from Hoy misses. Hoy decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Hoy is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Savage! Savage flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Savage tries to lock up and control but Hoy gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hoy throws some wild stikes that Savage manages to avoid easily.

Savage sprawls well initially but Hoy persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Hoy is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Savage really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hoy. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Hoy prevents Savage from getting the reversal.
