The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Antheunis misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Antheunis thows a body shot but no joy. Antheunis lands a slapping body shot.
Nice takedown defense from Mcneil. No joy for Antheunis on that attempt. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Mcneil checks a leg kick. Antheunis cracks Mcneil with an uppercut from hell and Mcneil crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Antheunis's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!
Mcneil pushes Antheunis off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Mcneil tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Antheunis paws at him with a jab and circles away. Antheunis fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Mcneil to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Mcneil looks to clinch but Antheunis throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Mcneil taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Turner tries to clinch up but Sivad circles away and keeps his distance. Sivad tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Sivad changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Turner tries to avoid it but Sivad manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Turner to the ground. Turner escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Sivad scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sivad is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Turner reverses the position - he's now on top in Sivad's guard. Sivad pushes Turner off and scrambles back to his feet.
Turner tries to clinch up but Sivad circles away and keeps his distance. Turner tries to close the distance and clinch but Sivad swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Turner misses with a takedown attempt and Sivad counters with a shoot takedown. Turner fights it but they end up in guard. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Turner holds on and takes a little breather.

Deric seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but O Brien does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. That's one minute gone in the round. O Brien slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Deric is still in real trouble! Can O Brien finish him? O Brien trying to control the position from guard on top but Deric is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Deric seems to have recovered his senses. O Brien stays in close to Deric's body and controls the position. O Brien trying to control but Deric is working from the bottom. That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Deric can't do much from the bottom here. That's three minutes gone in the round. O Brien working the ground and pound from side control. O Brien just content to control the position. Deric manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. O Brien content to control rather than advance.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Deric is looking for a sweep. O Brien is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. O Brien controlling the action here.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Bash O Brien just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. O Brien throws a right and a left that Deric avoids nicely. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. O Brien gets caught flat footed, as Deric shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. O Brien wants to stand but Deric is controlling the position. O Brien keeping full guard, as Deric tries to pass. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bash O Brien dominated that round. The cut man is working on Sir Deric's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
O Brien tries to clinch but Deric is having none of it. Bash O Brien seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. O Brien lands a high kick to the side of Deric's head that stuns him and send him tumbling down to the canvas! O Brien dives into guard, looking to finish. Deric is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. O Brien is trying to maintain the position but Deric is very close to passing his half guard. Deric is stalling here. O Brien is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Deric seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and O Brien has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Deric sneaks back into half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Deric tries to roll over but O Brien keeps him under control. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. O Brien thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Deric moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. O Brien postures up.
Deric had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. O Brien is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Deric Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take O Brien's back instead. Deric trying to control momentarily.
Deric gets his hands free as O Brien looks to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Will Deric go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. O Brien trying to control the action but Deric just sinks the hooks in. Deric scores with punches from the back.

O Brien refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of O Brien's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
