The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vedhult throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Vedhult throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Arlovski throws a series of punches but Vedhult moves out of range. Arlovski fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Vedhult looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Vedhult is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Arlovski. A slow jab from Vedhult misses its intended target. Arlovski works Vedhult's body with a nice hook. Vedhult throws a shot from downtown. Arlovski moves away and avoids it. Vedhult thows a body shot but no joy. Arlovski jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.

Arlovski can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Vedhult prevents Arlovski from getting the reversal.
And that's the end of the fight! Ragnar Vedhult comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Vedhult has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Steele looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Steele is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Necktie is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Necktie is thwarting Steele's attempts to control the position. Steele is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Necktie is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Steele is trying to get back to full guard. Steele flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

It looks like LA Guti has been cut. Fang cracks Guti with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Fang is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Guti flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Guti is out cold! Fang holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hirvonen swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Hirvonen clobbers Xin with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Hirvonen darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Hirvonen thows a huge punch but Xin dodges it nicely.
Hirvonen passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Xin! Hirvonen can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Xin is looking to escape. Hirvonen prevents Xin from getting the reversal. Hirvonen with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

It looks like Pentti Hirvonen has been cut. Hirvonen throws a right and a left that both miss. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Hirvonen fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Xin checks it well. Xin keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Xin just misses with a punch to the body.
Hirvonen shoots in but Xin avoids the takedown attempt easily. Xin throws out a loose jab but Hirvonen uses good head movement to avoid it. A jab from Xin does it's job there. A punch lands to the side of Xin 's head but he takes it in his stride. Xin bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. This has been an exciting period of action! Hirvonen throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Hirvonen catches Xin with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Hirvonen fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Ming Xin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pentti Hirvonen. Xin uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Hirvonen. Hirvonen swings for the body but Xin moves out of range.
Hirvonen shoots in looking for a takedown. Xin tries to sprawl out of it but Hirvonen keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Xin manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Xin ducks under a wild hook from Hirvonen. Xin misses the jab. Xin works the jab nicely. Hirvonen tries to clinch but fails miserably and Xin counters by moving into the clinch. With the two fighters working up against the cage, Hirvonen just misses with a elbow thrown towards Xin's brow. Xin can't break the clinch.
Hirvonen is trying to maintain a safe position but Xin gets an underhook and turns Hirvonen into the cage. Xin is looking to break free of the clinch but Hirvonen has double underhooks. Hirvonen wants to stall.

Xin cracks Hirvonen with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Xin throws a nice looking combination but Hirvonen bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Xin ducks under a wild hook from Hirvonen. Xin throws a looping overhand right but Hirvonen ducks down to avoid it. Hirvonen tries to clinch but Xin is having none of it. Xin looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Xin is refusing to be controlled, as Hirvonen sits in half guard. Hirvonen is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Xin defends it well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Hirvonen seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Xin has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Xin looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Xin uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hirvonen.

Hirvonen wants to control from the top but Xin keeps moving. Hirvonen drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Xin manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Hirvonen has Xin in his guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Xin is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Xin not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Xin avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Hirvonen is pulling down on Xin's head. It's preventing any offense from Xin, at least for the moment. Xin controls from within his opponent's guard. Xin looking to pass the guard. Hirvonen lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Xin! Hirvonen looking to finish Xin with some ground and pound. This is bad for Xin!

Fridman catches Paulsen with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Fridman throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Fridman uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Fridman throws a predictable looking body shot
letting Paulsen counter with a right hand. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Paulsen stuffs the takedown attempt from Fridman. Fridman gets slowly back to his feet. Paulsen waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Fridman.

Fridman lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Alex Fridman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Fridman lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Paulsen circles away quickly and effectively. Fridman takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Fridman slips under a jab from Paulsen. Fridman throws a shot to the body.
Fridman connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Paulsen momentarily.

Paulsen keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Fridman looks gassed! A big right followed by a crushing left from Paulsen knocks Fridman out cold! Ouch - that one's going to be featured in highlight reels for years to come!
