The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Swift drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jonson wants to control but Swift postures up. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jonson can do anything to dispel that myth. Jonson is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Swift's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Jonson is pressing down on Swift's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Swift sitting in guard, not really doing much. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jonson looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Murphy throws a series of punches but Hasselhof avoids them all with ease. Murphy keeps the fight on the outside. Murphy lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Murphy stuffs the takedown. Murphy decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Hasselhof wants to control but Murphy is keeping busy.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Case moves out of range as KayO strikes. Case decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Case wants to lay and pray for a moment but KayO keeps working. KayO punching from the bottom.
Case seems to be working for a kimura but KayO defends the submission attempt. Case stops KayO from getting back to his feet.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Case connects with a nice short shot to KayO's temple. Case is keen to just control but KayO is a slippery customer.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smith is looking to clinch. Smith doesn't manage to clinch there - Gorden circles away.
Smith tries to clinch but Gorden is having none of it. Gorden throws a low kick but Smith avoids it. Smith misses with a head kick.

Smith rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Gorden moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Smith takes a shot right to the bread basket. Nice sprawl there from Gorden as Smith shoots in. Smith ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Smith wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Gorden blocks a head kick by Smith.
Smith dips to his left and cracks Gorden with an uppercut! A low kick from Smith is predictable there and Gorden counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Gorden swinging wilding here.

Smith throws a body kick that misses. Gorden scores a takedown into full mount! Gorden fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Gorden has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Smith is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Gorden's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Gorden's back! Smith working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet. Smith thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent. Gorden breaks Smith's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Gorden has gone for a leg lock! Smith slips out almost immediately though and dives into Gorden's guard. Smith must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Smith trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Gorden tries to strike from the bottom.
Gorden escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Smith gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Smith trying to control but Gorden is working from the bottom. Gorden throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Smith stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gorden swivels though and keeps the full guard. Gorden will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Gorden wants to finish this one by submission but Smith is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Gorden. Gorden has control of Smith's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Smith regains control of the situation pretty easily.

He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
