Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Nat Turner! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dexter Morgan! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Leandro Rodrigues and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Turner throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Turner fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Morgan manages to avoid it. Turner throws a jab when Morgan was well out of range. Turner connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Morgan momentarily.
Turner throws a looping overhand right but Morgan ducks down to avoid it. Nice takedown defense from Turner. No joy for Morgan on that attempt. A big left from Turner misses. Turner throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Turner lands a body shot.
Morgan looks gassed! Turner stuffs the takedown attempt from Morgan. Morgan gets slowly back to his feet. Turner is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Morgan. Turner misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Turner throws a series of punches but Morgan avoids them all with ease. Turner lands a nice hook to Morgan's body. Morgan takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Turner ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Morgan moves away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Turner connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Morgan! He's out on his feet! Turner rushes in and drops Morgan with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!

5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Alderson Silva! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Alexandre Firmino and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silva closes the distance and clinches up with Day, looking for a takedown. Silva pushes Day against the cage but Day circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Day throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Silva. Silva dodges the punch combination from Day.
A combination from Day does no damage. Nice takedown defense from Day. No joy for Silva on that attempt. Andy Day seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Day rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Silva moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Day shoots in for a takedown but Silva shows good takedown defense. Silva doesn't succeed with the takedown and Day counters with a nice uppercut.
It looks like Alderson Silva has been cut. Andy Day has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alderson Silva. Day connects with a good right hand that stumbles Silva. Silva circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Day takes the fight into the clinch. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Day prevents the takedown attempt.

Day manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Day moves into range and clinches up with Silva.

Day lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Silva backwards. Day lands a shot to the body. Silva keeps control of Day as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Day throws a big right hand that misses. Day gets to his feet. Silva looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Day shoots in for a double leg but Silva sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Day closes the distance and clinches. Alderson Silva has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Day manages to break the clinch.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wentworth lands a front kick. Penn shoots in for a takedown but Wentworth shows good takedown defense. Penn shoots in but no luck this time. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Penn crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Wentworth - the referee stops the clock and Penn gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Wentworth. Penn manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Penn throws a series of punches but Wentworth moves out of range. Penn avoids the head kick by Wentworth.

Penn is rocked! Wentworth really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Penn. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Penn looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Wentworth has picked Penn up and slammed him! Penn can't keep hold of the triangle and Wentworth manages to pass to side control! Oh Penn is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Wentworth wants to stand but Penn has his arm trapped. Penn seems to have got his legs back now. Penn tries to improve position but can't.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wentworth content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Penn tries to get back to half guard but can't. This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Penn. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery. Penn swings for the body but Wentworth moves out of range.

so Penn counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Penn prevents Wentworth from getting back to his feet. Wentworth avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Penn drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Wentworth manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Penn has Wentworth in his guard. Penn is looking for a triangle but Wentworth pushes his legs off easily.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Wentworth preventing the sweep. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Penn trying to control but Wentworth is working from the bottom. Penn has gone for a leg lock! Wentworth slips out almost immediately though and dives into Penn's guard. Penn is trying to hold Wentworth in close to prevent damage but Wentworth has managed to pass into half guard.

Wentworth seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Penn does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Penn is looking to regain full guard. Wentworth is trying to control the action in half guard but Penn is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Penn wants to improve his position but Wentworth is controlling well.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Penn shoots in but Wentworth avoids the takedown attempt easily. Penn avoids the head kick by Wentworth.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Wentworth. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Wentworth throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Wentworth connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

A kick lands to the mid section there for Wentworth. Wentworth dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Penn. That did some damage! A shot to the body from Wentworth misses and Penn counters with a nice double leg into guard. Wentworth is pulling down on Penn's head to control his posture. Jacobs throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Putin. Putin throws a head kick that misses. Putin moves in looking to clinch but Jacobs pushes him off. Mark Jacobs seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Putin will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Putin lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Fishpockets looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Mithrandir had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Fishpockets is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Mithrandir Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Fishpockets's back instead. Fishpockets just trying to survive but Mithrandir is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish. Fishpockets is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

Horrible takedown by Duck or perhaps it was just good defense by Thomas which made him look bad. Thomas throws a jab but it's blocked by Duck. Duck keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Thomas. Thomas throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Duck on the side of the head. Duck ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Duck looks to clinch and Thomas counters with a lovely shot to the body. Duck looks gassed! Thomas looks to throw the jab but Duck is out of range. Thomas fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Duck staying out of range there. Thomas changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Thomas jabs at Duck's body. Thomas misses with a looping left. Thomas bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Duck's head. Thomas moves out of range of the strikes. Thomas ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Duck moves away. Duck staying out of range there. Thomas thuds a left hand into Duck's body. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Thomas has closed the distance and engaged Duck in a clinch.
Thomas escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Duck on the wrong end of a nice jab. Duck bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. A telegraphed right hand from Thomas misses the target. Duck ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Thomas throws a left jab followed by a right to the body, Oh Duck colapses and takes a barrage of punches from Thomas as he moves to mount! the ref stops the fight and Duck is left battered and dazed whilst Thomas and his camp cheer!
