The bell rings for round one and we are underway! James shoots in for a double leg but Grant sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. James shoots in for a takedown but Grant shows good takedown defense. James pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Grant misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
James throws a series of punches but Grant avoids them all with ease. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from James. Roland Grant has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Giunta takes one on the chin but seems OK.
It looks like Furio Giunta has been cut. Giunta looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Nice takedown defense from Surfer. No joy for Giunta on that attempt. Surfer catches Giunta napping and connects with a big right hand that sends Giunta to the canvas!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Giunta is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Surfer tries to stand but Giunta is controlling from the bottom. Giunta is working an open guard so Surfer takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Surfer looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Surfer throws a nice looking combination but Giunta bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Surfer rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Giunta moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Surfer misses with a series of wild punches.
Surfer lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Giunta circles away quickly and effectively. Surfer misses with a two punch combination.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Surfer manages to regain half guard. Good work. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Surfer tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Giunta trying to control the action but Surfer is working from the bottom.

Giunta is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Surfer is just riding it out for now. Giunta eventually gives up the hold.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Giunta moves out of range of the body kick from Surfer.

He's landed in Surfer's guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Surfer in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Surfer has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Surfer misses with a wild combination.

Jones steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Hellfire. Hellfire misses with a looping left. Hellfire takes a swing at Jones's ribcage but misses. Hellfire throws a hook to the side of Jones's head but Jones sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. No joy there for Hellfire, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
