The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Grant has Marquette up against the cage in a clinch.
Marquette looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Grant lands with a short head shot on the inside. A short right hand to the side of the head by Grant. Grant lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Marquette or not. Grant leaning his opponent against the cage. A hook to the body from Grant.
Grant lands with a short head shot on the inside. Grant turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Grant has hold of Marquette's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Marquette tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Grant cranks the arm and Marquette screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Marquette, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Maynard tries to get out of the position. Houligan is nestled in close to Maynard, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Houligan stands up and beckons Maynard to join him on the feet. Maynard avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Houligan is on top in guard.
Maynard will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Houligan manages to work his way to half guard, despite Maynard's best efforts. It looks like Ruslan Tashinchev has been cut. Tashinchev is breathing heavily. Washington darts in and clinches Tashinchev up against the cage. Tashinchev tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Tashinchev tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Knees in the clinch landing for Washington.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Washington lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Tashinchev backwards. A short right from Washington on the inside.

Bryant working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Quinn doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Quinn manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

That's going to slow Knife down. Tatum throws a right and a left that both miss. Knife seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Tatum shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Knife is backing up but Tatum catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Knife covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Tatum Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!

Kuklinski wants to control but Smith is having none of it. Kuklinski regains half guard. Kuklinski tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Kuklinski is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Smith's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Smith's back! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Kuklinski counters with a straight right hand. Nice sprawl there from Kuklinski as Smith shoots in. Smith uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kuklinski.
Smith throws a combination that misses and Kuklinski counters with a big uppercut that knocks Smith off his feet! Kuklinski dives into side control looking to finish! Kuklinski lands a strong strike to the head of Smith. That's dazed him! Kuklinski looking to finish here. Smith is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Kuklinski lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!
