The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smoot shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Faca as he jumps to the side.
Faca circles away from the clinch attempt.
Smoot tries to close the distance and clinch up but Faca swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Faca chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Smoot can pounce on him.
Faca changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Smoot tries to avoid it but Faca manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Smoot to the ground. Smoot escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Hendry gets caught flat footed, as Gomi shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Hendry had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Gomi is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Hendry Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Gomi's back instead.

Gomi is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Hendry gets his way!
