The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, John Roberts and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mackenzie misses with a leg kick.
Mackenzie will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Mackenzie lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Luongo sprawling to the canvas. Mackenzie follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Luongo hang on?

It looks like Francesco Luongo has been cut.
Mackenzie is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Luongo tries to roll over but Mackenzie keeps him under control.

Luongo had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Mackenzie is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Luongo Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Mackenzie's back instead.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Luongo is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Mackenzie has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Luongo has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Mackenzie taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Luongo doesn't care though - he's delighted!
