The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Bjj is able to avoid easily.

Bjj shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Bjj drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Bjj jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Johnson had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Bjj is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Johnson Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Bjj's back instead.
Bjj can't escape the position.
Bjj breaks Johnson's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
