Assassin gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Akiaki to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Assassin lands a couple of decent looking body shots there.

Assassin has his feet on Akiaki's thighs here. He's pushed Akiaki off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Akiaki screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kurose fails with a takedown attempt.
Makunouchi throws a right hand that Kurose ducks under and follows up with a left that Kurose also avoids with ease.
Makunouchi drops Kurose with a beautiful combination! Kurose stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Makunouchi is looking for the KO!
Makunouchi lands a with a good body shot.
Kurose moves out of range of the body kick.

Kurose closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Makunouchi prevents Kurose from improving position.

Kurose working for a submission but Makunouchi is keeping him at bay.

Kurose is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Makunouchi can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Makunouchi tries to reverse the position but Kurose maintains control.
Makunouchi might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Kurose swings around for an armbar but Makunouchi sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Kurose's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Makunouchi trying to control the position from guard on top but Kurose is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kurose tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Makunouchi pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Kurose is keeping the position for now.

Kurose working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Makunouchi has passed into half guard!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Kurose shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Makunouchi manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Kurose working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Makunouchi doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Makunouchi manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Makunouchi wants to stand but Kurose has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Kurose is trying to control the position but Makunouchi postures up.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Makunouchi wanted to stand there but Kurose had control of the position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Makunouchi lands a left and a right that sends Kurose crashing to the canvas! Makunouchi dives into mount looking to finish!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kurose tries to lock up and control but Makunouchi gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Xu lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Huerta quite badly. Huerta pulls Xu in close trying to recover. Xu postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Huerta on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Huerta doesn't seem to be complaining too much.

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tatu Tikki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stari Starac (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tikki kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Ratatat - Loud Pipes. Starac has chosen The Last Waltz as his entrance music. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Starac uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Tikki.
Tikki lands a slapping body shot.

Starac moves into range and clinches up with Tikki.
Tikki softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
Starac tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Starac fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Tikki escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Tikki connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

It looks like Stari Starac has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Tikki has Starac up against the cage in a clinch.
Tikki blocks an uppercut.
Tikki lands a left hand that snaps the head of Starac backwards.
Tikki lands with a light punch inside.

Starac looks gassed!
Starac goes for a takedown in the clinch but Tikki prevents it.
Starac is still on wobbly legs! Can Tikki finish him?
Tatu Tikki has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Stari Starac.
Starac jumps guard but Tikki stands there with Starac around his waist. Starac gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Starac seems to have recovered his senses.

Tikki breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Tikki cracks Starac with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Starac tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Tikki pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Starac is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tatu Tikki!
