The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Howard throws the left hand but Alvarez avoids the punch easily. Howard misses with a series of wild punches.
Howard misses with a jab, cross combination.
Nice body punch from Howard. Alvarez fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Alvarez takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Alvarez looks gassed! Howard ducks down and throws a hook to the body. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Howard connects with a nice cross there... Alvarez is looking wobbly and Howard recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send Alvarez to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Howard jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Parantainen misses with a few strikes there.

Parantainen stuffs the takedown attempt from Halonen. Halonen gets slowly back to his feet. Some wild striking there from Parantainen.
No joy there for Parantainen, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Halonen can do anything to dispel that myth. Halonen is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Halonen trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Parantainen trying to stand up but can't free himself from Halonen's guard. Halonen thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Halonen kicks Parantainen off and gets to his feet. Halonen instigates a clinch. Parantainen tries to pull guard but Halonen holds him up against the cage and eventually Parantainen drops back down to his feet.

Halonen is trying to trip Parantainen. He has hold of a leg but Parantainen is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Halonen persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Parantainen manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Parantainen utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Parantainen is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Halonen is controlling him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Halonen stands up from Parantainen's guard - Halonen perhaps looking for a knockout. Halonen shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Halonen won't let Parantainen get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Halonen lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Halonen postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Parantainen looks a forlorn figure.

You get the feeling that Parantainen really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Halonen lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Halonen lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Parantainen takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Halonen unloads with some shots from mount but Parantainen bucks and avoids them well.

Halonen sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Parantainen is trying to stand. Halonen misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Ooooh, that looks tight… Parantainen is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Parantainen and Halonen has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

It looks like Luka Vainio has been cut. Aikamoinen Mulkku seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mulkku lands a nice hook to Vainio's body. Vainio takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Vainio looks gassed! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Mulkku cracks Vainio with a big right hand and Vainio goes down!

Gattuso fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Gattuso dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Kuhta. That did some damage! Gattuso scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Good leg kick by Gattuso there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
