The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fortunado shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Guti pinned against the cage. Guti gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Vedhult shoots for a takedown but Aliyev saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Aliyev scores with a hook to the body. Vedhult takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Aliyev cracks a nice hook into Vedhult's ribs. Vedhult is breathing heavily. This has been an exciting period of action! Aliyev misses with a straight right. Vedhult rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Aliyev finish him?!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bam shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Laine's guard. Bam tries to free his leg and advance position but Laine is retaining full guard. Laine bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Bam's guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Laine accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Laine must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Bam striking off his back but it's not causing Laine any problems.
