0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Luka Escudero! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Alexandre Firmino and Felipe Paraventi.

Escudero tries to keep at a distance but Elias has taken the fight into the clinch. Escudero goes for a takedown in the clinch but Elias prevents it.
Elias is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Escudero can't fight it off and eventually Elias manages to take the fight to the floor. Escudero looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Escudero utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Elias lands a couple of digs. Escudero manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Elias manages to get himself to full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Elias is not content to let Escudero control the position. Elias trying to control but Escudero postures up.

Elias closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Elias throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Escudero works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure. Elias knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Escudero on the ground.

Elias is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Escudero still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Escudero has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work! Elias is breathing heavily. Elias is not content to let Escudero control the position. Elias is pushing Escudero's head away, looking to escape. Escudero manages to hold on to the position though.

You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Escudero wants to lay and pray for a moment but Elias keeps working. Elias is trying to buck Escudero off. Elias can't do much from the bottom here. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Escudero is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Elias looks calm but he's in trouble here. Escudero gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Elias is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Escudero lets go of the hold and Elias can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Beckerman throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Nara throws a right hand that Beckerman ducks under and follows up with a left that Beckerman also avoids with ease.
Beckerman drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Nara wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Beckerman working the ground and pound. Nara wants to get back to his feet. Nara misses with an elbow from the bottom. Nara trying to remain calm as Beckerman controls from the top position. Nara is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Beckerman is controlling him well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Nara is fighting to maintain full guard but Beckerman has managed to sneak the leg through. Nara is looking to escape. Nara is breathing heavily. Beckerman performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

and Nara counters with a left and a right that stings Beckerman.

Beckerman shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Beckerman was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Nara swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing. Beckerman tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Nara wants to try and get back to his feet. Beckerman controlling the pace for now. Beckerman's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Beckerman throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Nara's waist but Nara gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Beckerman off to one side. Nara throws a combination that misses
and Beckerman counters with a nice double leg into guard. Nara is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Beckerman is controlling him. Nara being controlled here, momentarily. Nara wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Beckerman manages to pass to side control. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Beckerman is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Nara!

Beckerman has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Nara's face.

Barros moves into the clinch. Gunn on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Barros throws a knee to the head but misses.
Barros is trying to break free. Barros tries to pull guard but Gunn holds him up against the cage and eventually Barros drops back down to his feet.

Barros takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Gunn lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Barros sprawling to the canvas. Gunn follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Barros hang on?

Brown moves into the clinch.
Brown pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Pacheco loads up on a big right hand but Brown slips the punch. Pacheco rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Brown moves out of range and avoids them all easily. A left and a right from Brown both land. Nice combination. This has been an exciting period of action! Pacheco moves into range and connects with a jab. Pacheco loads up on a big right hand but Brown slips the punch.

Pacheco misses with a hook. Brown ducked under it nicely.

Brown turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Brown manages to end up in side control. Pacheco prevents Brown from improving position. Pacheco is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Brown is controlling him well. Brown lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Pacheco tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck. Brown controlling from mount.

Brown tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Brown seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Pacheco for as long as he can get away with. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Brown cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
