Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Salva Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luke Bando (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Cruz might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Kreator - Phobia. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Salva Cruz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Luke Bando! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Chris Downing and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bando drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bando is trying to get an arm triangle but Cruz is defending well. Bando creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Bando thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Bando decides to take the fight back to the feet. Cruz is breathing heavily. Bando tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Cruz paws at him with a jab and circles away. Bando tries to clinch up but Cruz circles away and keeps his distance. Bando shoots in and drives through. Cruz sprawls well. Cruz has taken the fight to the clinch.
Cruz tries to score a body lock takedown but Bando shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Bando tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Bando is trying to trip Cruz. He has hold of a leg but Cruz is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Bando persists though and gets the takedown into guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Bando slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Cruz throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Cruz on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Cruz tries to get out of the position. Bando is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Bando lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bando wants to control from the top but Cruz keeps moving. Bando decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Cruz, up you get! Bando is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Cruz misses with a takedown attempt - Bando sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Bando drives through and clinches with Cruz against the cage.
Bando ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Bando no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Bando had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Cruz is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Bando Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Cruz's back instead. Bando has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Cruz is in real trouble here. Bando gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Cruz is tapping out! Bando wins by rear naked choke!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Coleman tries to close the distance and clinch up but Africanus swats him away and circles back towards the center. Africanus throws a big shot that misses. A combination from Africanus does no damage. Coleman tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Coleman uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Africanus.
Africanus stuffs the takedown attempt from Coleman. Coleman gets slowly back to his feet. Coleman tries to close the distance and clinch up but Africanus swats him away and circles back towards the center. No luck with that takedown attempt from Coleman. A jab from Africanus misses. Africanus waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Coleman. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Coleman gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Africanus is defending well though. Coleman let's go of the attempt for now. Africanus is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Coleman won't allow Africanus to get back to his feet. Coleman looking to sit in guard and control but Africanus gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Africanus has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Africanus wants to stand and escape but instead Coleman has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Coleman missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Scipio Africanus is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Africanus keeping moving, preventing Coleman from controlling successfully. Africanus preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Coleman showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Coleman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Africanus swivels though and keeps the full guard.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Africanus throws a big shot that misses. Africanus scores with a decent looking hook. Tommy Coleman has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Left hook, right uppercut from Africanus. Africanus smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Africanus dips to his left and cracks Coleman with an uppercut! Africanus displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Coleman.
And that's the end of the fight! Scipio Africanus showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Africanus, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Mac shoots in for a takedown but Darko shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Blixt manages to land in guard. Assaf trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Assaf gets to his feet - Blixt follows without any prompting. Richell manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fark Fok.
