The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Berry takes a jab right on the kisser.
Berry is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Wright's half guard. Wright is pressing down on Berry's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Berry pushing down on Wright's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Berry trying to mount his opponent but Wright defends it. Berry stops Wright from getting back to his feet.
Berry prevents Wright from improving his position. Berry is trying to work for a kimura but Wright is defending well.
Berry wants to work for an arm triangle but Wright is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Berry shoots for a double leg takedown but Wright sprawls well. He's pushed Berry's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Wright tries to get out of the position. Wright had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Berry is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Wright Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Berry's back instead. Berry manages to reverse the position and now he's in Wright's guard. Nice work there by Berry.

This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Nose might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far. Nose takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Bear keeps the fight on the outside. Nose takes one to the chin there. John Bear seems to be getting the better of the standup. Nose looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. A bone on bone clash there as Nose blocks the leg kick.

TW tries to score a power double leg takedown but Strop sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten TW somewhat. TW misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. A solid leg kick lands there for Strop.
TW looks gassed! Strop stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
It looks like Henri TW has been cut. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Strop throws a sloppy head kick and TW moves out of range easily. A punch lands to the side of TW 's head but he takes it in his stride. Strop circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! TW drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Strop follows TW to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!

Lesner tries for a takedown but Joe sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Lesner shoots in for a double leg but Joe sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Horrible takedown by Lesner or perhaps it was just good defense by Joe which made him look bad. Joe connects with a crisp jab. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice takedown defense from Rogue. No joy for Beer on that attempt. Beer shoots in and bounces Rogue off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Rogue looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Beer wants to control from the top but Rogue keeps moving. Beer thows a big elbow that misses. Rogue is looking for a triangle here but Beer uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Beer trying to control the action but Rogue is working from the bottom. Rogue throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.
Rogue regains half guard. Beer seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

It looks like Blatz Beer has been cut. Rogue rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Beer moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Beer shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Rogue manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Rogue keeping moving, preventing Beer from controlling successfully. Rogue is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Beer pushes down on Rogue's leg and manages to get into half guard. Beer decides to stand up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Beer darts in and clinches Rogue up against the cage. Beer escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Beer tries to score a power double leg takedown but Rogue sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Beer somewhat. Rogue lands a right hook to the body.

Rogue cracks Beer with a good jab. Beer fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Rogue avoids it really well and circles away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Blatz Beer. That's going to take a lot out of him. Rogue scores with a jab. Beer acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Beer moves into the clinch. Beer breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Beer closes the distance and clinches. Beer has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Rogue clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Beer is breathing heavily.

Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Rogue. Beer uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Beer trying to control the position from guard on top but Rogue is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

He's got hold of a leg but Beer swivels and escapes. Rogue throws a series of punches but Beer moves out of range. Beer misses with a takedown attempt and Rogue counters with a two punch combo. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Beer is defended easily by Rogue.

Beer is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Rogue Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Beer's back instead. Blatz Beer overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Rogue struggling to land strikes to the head as Beer covers up.

Beer stands up and waves to Rogue to follow him. Beer closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Rogue to the mat! Rogue manages to get full guard. Beer avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Rogue has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Rogue throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Beer escapes and throws Rogue's legs to the side, diving into side control! Rogue on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Beer lands a nice forearm strike. Rogue wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land. Beer lands a few punches from side control. Beer decides to stand back up. Beer misses with a takedown attempt and Rogue counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Beer wants to stand up but Rogue is controlling him. Beer manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Beer tries to close the distance and clinch but Rogue swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Rogue avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Beer throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Rogue's waist but Rogue gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Beer off to one side. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Rogue scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

Steel ducked under it nicely. Steel throws a right hand that Lewis ducks under and follows up with a left that Lewis also avoids with ease. Lewis misses with a double jab.

Steel gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Lewis counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Steel thinking. This has been an exciting period of action! Steel tries to clinch but fails miserably and Lewis counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Steel darts in trying to clinch and Lewis counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Lewis tries to bum rush Steel with a series of wild strikes but Steel uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Lewis misses with an uppercut. Steel saw that one coming. Steel tries to clinch but Lewis moves away and Lewis makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Steel is absolutely dripping with sweat - he looks exhausted. Lewis throws a head kick that misses.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Steel drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Lewis with a hook. Steel uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Lewis.

A punch lands to the side of Steel 's head but he takes it in his stride. Lewis goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Steel has his takedown stuffed and Lewis counters with a nice uppercut. Steel drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. You can see the frustration on Lewis's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Lewis sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lewis has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Steel is working away from the top position though. Lewis on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Lewis tries to get out of the position. Lewis is staying active underneath Steel, who seems content to just control the action from this position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Steel misses with a takedown and Lewis counters with a straight right hand. Lennon Lewis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. Steel with a poor takedown and Lewis makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Lewis bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Nice defenses there by Lewis. Lewis slaps away a takedown attempt from Steel, before circling back to the center of the mat. Lennon Lewis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cory Steel. Steel is wobbling all over the place through exhaustion. Will he make it to the final bell?

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Steel with a poor takedown and Steel takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Steel misses with a looping right. Lewis finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Steel won't let Lewis get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Lewis is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Steel lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
