Gomez comes into the arena with Big Pimpin blaring out of the sound system. Chico Feijo told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, David Schapiro and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomez moves out of range of the strikes.
Gomez clinches with his opponent.
Feijo gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Gomez can't get the takedown.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Feijo.
Feijo throws a knee to the head but misses.
Feijo tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Gomez avoids it.
Gomez avoids a wild elbow strike from Feijo.
Feijo misses with a knee strike.
Feijo's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
A nice leg kick lands there from Feijo.
Gomez slips under a jab from Feijo.
Feijo throws a series of punches but Gomez moves out of range.
Gomez shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Feijo napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Gomez is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Feijo's shoulder. That is not cool.
Feijo is looking to regain half guard here but Gomez keeps moving and retains side control.
Feijo stops Gomez from passing to mount.
Gomez goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Feijo has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Gomez but great work by Feijo.

Gomez is trying to buck Feijo off.
Gomez is looking for a sweep.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Gomez shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Feijo manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

You can see the frustration on Feijo's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Gomez stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Feijo fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
A nice leg kick lands there from Feijo.
Gomez looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Feijo is defending against the submission attempts here by Gomez.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Gomez is working for a kimura but Feijo is defending it quite comfortably.

Gomez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Feijo swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Gomez is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Feijo is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Feijo has escaped and now he's on top!
Gomez has an active guard here but Feijo has managed to pass into half guard.

Gomez wants to hold on but Feijo pushes him away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Nice sprawl there from Feijo as Gomez shoots in.
Feijo lands the left hand.
Horrible takedown by Gomez or perhaps it was just good defense by Feijo which made him look bad.
Feijo throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Feijo swings for the body but Gomez moves out of range.
Gomez tries to score a power double leg takedown but Feijo sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Gomez somewhat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alfredo Gomez. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Feijo. Gomez shrugs it off though.
A nice combination there by Feijo.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Gomez moves out of range as Feijo throws a body kick.

Gomez fails to land the takedown.
Feijo feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Gomez's calf.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Gomez takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
The fighters circle, before Feijo throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Gomez's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Feijo lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!

Maloney changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. McGee looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
McGee is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Maloney's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Maloney works his foot free and advances to mount.
