1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Steve Fontana! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kody Corley! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Anthony Taglia and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fontana closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Fontana lands in his opponent's guard. Corley avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Corley keeping moving, preventing Fontana from controlling successfully. Fontana looking to pass the guard. Corley is looking to stand back up but Fontana counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Corley. Fontana prevents Corley from standing back up.
Fontana is looking to advance position but Corley won't allow it. Fontana not landing any meaningful shots this time. Fontana seems to be looking for submissions.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Fontana tries to clinch there but Corley circles away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fontana shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Corley wants to get back to his feet. Fontana stands up out of the half guard. Corley misses with a takedown and Fontana counters with a two punch combo. Fontana is looking to clinch but Corley is avoiding it.
Fontana fails with the takedown and Corley counters with a two punch combo. Corley tries for a takedown but Fontana circles away easily and Fontana counters by moving into the clinch. Fontana ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Fontana no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Fontana has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Corley has passed into side control.
Fontana tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Corley wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fontana can't do much from the bottom here. Corley decides to stand back up. No luck with that takedown attempt from Fontana. Fontana lands a two punch combo.
Nice body punch from Corley. Corley has his takedown stuffed and Fontana counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Corley's guard now. Steve Fontana has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kody Corley. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Fontana thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Fontana postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Corley trying to keep a closed guard but Fontana is proving a slippery customer.

Fontana with a nice head shot there. Fontana is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Fontana forces his way into half guard. Corley is trying to stand back up but Fontana is controlling him
Corley looks gassed! Fontana is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Fontana connects with a nice short shot to Corley's temple. Fontana wants to work for an arm triangle but Corley is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Fontana is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Fontana thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Corley's head. Corley wants to get back to full guard but Fontana has passed into side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Steve Fontana dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Fontana shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Fontana seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Corley trying to control but Fontana postures up.
Fontana seems to be working for a kimura but Corley defends the submission attempt. Corley is trying to stand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Corley is breathing heavily. Corley wants to get back to full guard. Fontana has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Fontana is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Corley can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Fontana connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Corley is squirming around, avoiding Fontana's attempts to control the action. Fontana controlling from the full mount. Fontana has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Corley's face.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fontana lands a big shot there that rocks Corley but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Everest lands a jab to the nose. The fight stays on the outside here - Stanford looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Everest throws a jab but it's blocked by Stanford. Everest throws a push kick but Stanford slaps the foot to one side. Everest closes the distance looking to clinch and Stanford counters with a head kick. That will keep Everest thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Everest moves in looking to clinch but Stanford pushes him off. Stanford moves out of range of the strikes. Everest closes the distance looking to clinch and Stanford counters with a big head kick but Everest shrugs it off. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Everest throws a body kick the misses and Stanford counters with a nice kick to the body. Everest is breathing heavily. The fight moves into the clinch position. Stanford pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Nice defenses there by Stanford. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Stanford manages to break the clinch.

And that's the end of the fight! Brian Stanford comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Stanford has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Sambo showing good wrestling skills to control the position. La Fleur looking for a triangle here. Sambo is fighting it but it looks tight! La Fleur pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Sambo is tapping out - this one is all over!
