Boombatz scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Boombatz throws a big shot that misses. Boombatz bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Boombatz tries to clinch up. Boombatz stalks Long and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Long's face. Long staggers backwards, shaken. Boombatz throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Boombatz misses with the combination.
Long slips under a jab from Boombatz. Boombatz misses with the combination.
Boombatz throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Long sees it coming and avoids it easily. Boombatz looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Long displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Boombatz throws out the jab. Long is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Boombatz fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Boombatz misses with a double jab.
Boombatz throws a body punch but Long moves out of range. Long showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Boombatz.
Boombatz is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Boombatz's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems. Boombatz thows a body shot but no joy. Boombatz misses with a wild body shot. Boombatz tries to bum rush Long with a series of wild strikes but Long uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Long looks for a takedown but Boombatz sprawls well.

Long shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Long swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Boombatz is now in Long's guard. A big mistake from Long there, giving up the dominant position! Long looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Boombatz is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Long has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Boombatz is looking to defend but Long has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Boombatz! Long pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Boombatz taps out and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Tom Long!

Cruz gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Mandela counters with a nice double leg into guard. Mandela pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Cruz is keeping the position for now.
Cruz looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Cruz working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mandela doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mandela manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Cruz pulls Mandela in close to prevent any damage. Mandela works a leg free and moves into half guard. Cruz holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Cruz is looking to improve his position.
Mandela with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Cruz throws a sloppy strike from the bottom. He's now off balance and Mandela manages to pass to side control. Cruz is trying to get back to half guard.

Cruz is still in real trouble! Can Mandela finish him? Cruz prevents Mandela from moving into mount. Cruz takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Mandela tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Mandela has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Cruz manages to work his way to half guard, despite Mandela's best efforts. Cruz wants to get back to his feet. Cruz seems to have recovered his senses. Mandela working Cruz over with strikes. Cruz tries to get to full guard but Mandela has control of the leg.
Cruz has one foot on Mandela's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Mandela misses with a takedown attempt and Cruz counters with a nice body kick.

and Cruz counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Cruz not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Cruz seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Mandela does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Cruz tries to pass to full mount but Mandela defends it. Cruz trying to control from half guard but Mandela is working away. Mandela trying to hold on to Cruz's head to control him but Cruz postures up.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Cruz frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Mandela tries to reverse the position but Cruz maintains control. Cruz working the ground and pound effectively.
BOOM! Cruz connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Cruz is in the full mount, landing strikes. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mandela has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Cruz can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Mandela is looking to escape. A nice elbow there by Cruz.

Cruz is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Mandela can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Cruz tries to keep at a distance but Mandela has taken the fight into the clinch. Mandela tries to pull guard but Cruz holds him up against the cage and eventually Mandela drops back down to his feet.

Cruz lands a head shot. Nice defenses there by Cruz. A combination from Mandela does no damage. Mandela wants to clinch but Cruz slips to the side
and Cruz counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Mandela! Mandela wants to control but Cruz is having none of it. Mandela is in a horrible position here. Cruz smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Cruz moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Mandela has worked his arm free - good work by Mandela!
Cruz creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Mandela sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Flanders feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Wallace not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Wallace looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Flanders can do anything to dispel that myth.

Hall gets to his feet - Greene follows without any prompting. Hall tries to clinch up but Greene circles away and keeps his distance. Greene looks to land a right hand but Hall moved out of range. Hall moves out of range as Greene throws a body kick.

Hall sneaks out the side door and pushes Greene away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. Hall throws a series of strikes that have Greene backpedaling.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Greene avoids a punch combination nicely.
Hall moves in looking to clinch but Greene pushes him off. Hall fails with an attempt to clinch.

Hall has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Greene is really squeezing tight and eventually Hall passes out! Greene breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Blasko! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Wesley Smith and Cecil Peabody.
![](https://www.mmatycoon.com/images/fight/round1.jpg) The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Blasko shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Cage as he avoids it easily. Blasko chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Cage can pounce on him.
Blasko on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Blasko looks gassed! Cage tries to bum rush Blasko with a series of wild strikes but Blasko uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Blasko shoots in but Cage avoids the takedown attempt easily. Johnny Cage seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Blasko walks into a jab. Cage throws a quick inside leg kick. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Cage connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Blasko's hands. Blasko fails with the takedown. Johnny Cage has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Blasko. Cage lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Blasko at a distance.
Cage misses with a double jab.
Blasko tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Cage swivels and escapes. Nice takedown defense from Cage. No joy for Blasko on that attempt. Blasko moves forwards but Cage connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Blasko crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Cage - the referee stops the clock and Blasko gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Cage. Blasko manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Blasko is still on wobbly legs! Can Cage finish him? Blasko fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Blasko seems to have recovered his senses. Blasko on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Cage scores with a decent looking hook. Blasko tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Cage takes a swing at Blasko's ribcage but misses. Blasko falls off balance throwing a combination
and Cage counters with a leg kick. Blasko tries to clinch but fails miserably and Blasko takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Blasko needs to keep his hands up - Cage had a free shot at his head there. Blasko takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Cage drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks Blasko right on the button. Blasko goes down! Cage follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Cage gets the win via TKO!
