4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Vinicius Carvalho! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Alec Ball and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carvalho circles away from the clinch attempt.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Tankyan is defended easily by Carvalho. Tankyan shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Carvalho keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Carvalho wants to control but Tankyan is keeping busy and won't allow it. Tankyan sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Carvalho defending well though. Tankyan thows a huge punch but Carvalho dodges it nicely.
Carvalho is pressing down on Tankyan's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Tankyan wants to control from the top but Carvalho keeps moving. Tankyan is working Carvalho over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Not particularly brutal. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Carvalho is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Tankyan throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Carvalho. Tankyan tries to close the distance and clinch but Carvalho swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Tankyan dives in and grabs Carvalho's left leg, looking for a takedown. Carvalho pushes down on Tankyan's head and hops out. Carvalho lands a nice shot that snaps Tankyan's head back.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tankyan throws a low kick, looking for Carvalho's leg but Carvalho calmly moves out of range. Carvalho is breathing heavily. Mica looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Mica stopping the sweep attempt from Kennedy. Mica stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kennedy swivels though and keeps the full guard. Kennedy working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mica doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Kennedy is tightening it up a little... Mica has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Mica reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Mica taps out! nice BJJ there by Kennedy!

Gibson tries to avoid it but The dragon manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Gibson to the ground. Gibson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. The dragon misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Gibson.
