1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Silvas Silva! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jesse Pinsent! The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Daniel Cesar and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silva darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Silva lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Pinsent at a distance.
Silva feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Pinsent sprawling to the canvas! Pinsent rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Silva finish him?!
Pinsent is rocked! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Silva dances in with a quick combination. Pinsent is being worked over with jabs and crosses. Oooh, a right straight from Silva snaps Pinsent's head back. Pinsent stumbles backwards against the cage. Silva steps forward and delivers a right cross that connects with Pinsent's jaw, simultaneously knocking him out and sending his mouthpiece into the crowd! There's a worthy souvenir for the fans. This one is over folks. Pinsent just didn't come prepared.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Davies tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Goncalves paws at him with a jab and circles away. Davies turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Goncalves lands with a straight right. Davies didn't see that one coming. Davies throws a head kick but Goncalves moves out of range.
Nice jab there from Goncalves. Goncalves misses with a series of wild punches.
Goncalves jabbing away but nothing is landing. Davies takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Goncalves is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Davies looks gassed! Davies pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Goncalves throws a big overhand right that connects, sending Davies tumbling to the canvas!
Davies is rocked! Goncalves stands and steps away. Davies gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Davies is still on wobbly legs! Can Goncalves finish him? Goncalves throws an overhand right that has Davies reeling! Goncalves follows up with more punches and Davies is out cold! This one is all over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pernada is trying hard to land a takedown here. Zane sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Zane tries to bum rush Pernada with a series of wild strikes but Pernada uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Zane avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Pernada wants to clinch. Pernada will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Pernada looks for a takedown but Zane sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tibor Pernada. That's going to take a lot out of him. Pernada shoots in but Zane avoids the takedown attempt easily. Pernada takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
It looks like Tibor Pernada has been cut. Pernada closes the distance and clinches up with Zane, looking for a takedown. Pernada pushes Zane against the cage but Zane circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Pernada takes one to the chin there. Tibor Pernada seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Pernada misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Zane scores with a hook to the body. Pernada takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Pernada shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Zane is trying to defend but Pernada finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Pernada passes to side control. Zane is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Zane lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Pernada! Zane tries to control but Pernada wriggling away.

Pernada tries to hold on but Zane postures up. Zane has hold of Pernada's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Pernada manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Zane prevents Pernada from getting the reversal. Zane is landing with some decent strikes but Pernada is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Zane landing shots from mount. Pernada is trying desperately to improve position. Zane is going olschool here, as he tries to force Pernada to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Pernada shrugs it off.

Zane wants to control but Pernada is keeping busy. Zane tightening his grip on Pernada, looking for the choke. Pernada is trying to break free.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pernada wants to control his opponent's hands but Zane gets his hands free.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Zane lands an elbow to the side of the head. Pernada is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Zane wants to control but Pernada is keeping busy. Zane misses with punches from the back. Zane has the hooks in. Pernada is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Pernada is keeping busy.

Billy Zane dominated that round. The cut man is working on Tibor Pernada's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Pernada shoots in looking for a takedown. Zane tries to sprawl out of it but Pernada keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Zane manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Pernada shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Zane napping and manages to drive through into side control! Pernada wants to take a breather but Zane manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Pernada. Pernada slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Zane regains half guard. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Pernada trying to control from Zane's half guard. Zane has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Zane keeping moving, preventing Pernada from controlling successfully. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Zane pushes Pernada off and gets back to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round. Left hook, right uppercut from Zane. Zane misses the shot to the body. Zane cracks a nice hook into Pernada's ribs. Zane punishes Pernada's body with a nice straight punch. Pernada fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Zane lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Pernada at a distance.
Billy Zane is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Zane throws a series of punches but Pernada moves out of range. Zane paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Pernada tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Zane swivels and escapes. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tibor Pernada. That's going to take a lot out of him. Pernada slips a jab and a cross from Zane.
Pernada takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Pernada fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Zane avoids it really well and circles away. Zane lands with a hook. Pernada tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Pernada closes the distance and clinches up with Zane, looking for a takedown. Pernada pushes Zane against the cage but Zane circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Zane connects with the punch. Zane lunges at Pernada with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Pernada's hand. Zane misses with a double jab.
Zane thuds a left hand into Pernada's body. Pernada wants to clinch up but Zane keeps it at a distance. Nice cross by Zane. A combination from Zane does no damage. Pernada tries to clinch but Zane moves out of range. Pernada clinches. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Zane breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Zane misses with a looping left. Pernada changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Zane tries to avoid it but Pernada manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Zane to the ground. Zane escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Zane scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Pernada avoids a punch combination nicely.

Pernada is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Zane wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Pernada fails in his attempt to clinch. Pernada scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Pernada wants to lay and pray for a moment but Zane keeps working. Zane wants to get back to his feet. Pernada thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Zane manages to get back to half guard. Pernada trying to mount his opponent but Zane defends it. Zane gets full guard. Pernada trying to control the position from guard on top but Zane is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Pernada wants to pass the guard but Zane is keeping the position. Zane is looking to stand up but Pernada isn't so interested in that idea. Zane wants to sweep here but Pernada controlling him for the moment. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Billy Zane showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Tibor Pernada's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Pernada had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Horrible takedown by Pernada or perhaps it was just good defense by Zane which made him look bad. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tibor Pernada. That's going to take a lot out of him. Pernada fails with a takedown attempt. Pernada takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Pernada drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Zane is trying to control the position but Pernada postures up. Zane is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Pernada defends well.

Pernada lands a punch to the side of the head from the back. Pernada is looking to control Zane but Zane is wriggling around and keeping busy. You can see the frustration on Zane's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Pernada throws a head kick but Zane moves out of range.
Pernada shoots in for a takedown but Zane shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Billy Zane is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Zane cracks Pernada with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Zane digs a good hook to Pernada's body.
Zane lands a jab-cross combination. Pernada shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Zane defends it nicely. Zane thows a body shot but no joy. Pernada dodges the punch combination from Zane.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Horrible takedown by Pernada or perhaps it was just good defense by Zane which made him look bad. Zane leaves Pernada with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Pernada shoots in for a takedown but Zane shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Billy Zane is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Zane displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Zane lands a with a good body shot. Pernada shoots in and drives through. Zane sprawls well. Zane scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Zane scores with a jab. Pernada acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Billy Zane seems to be getting the better of the standup. Zane connects with a jab. Zane throws a right hand that Pernada ducks under and follows up with a left that Pernada also avoids with ease. Zane throws a right and a left that both miss. Pernada dives in and grabs Zane's left leg, looking for a takedown. Zane pushes down on Pernada's head and hops out. Zane displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Pernada. Tibor Pernada has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Zane cracks Pernada with an open hand slap.
And that's the end of the fight! Billy Zane comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Zane winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Maia tries to sprawl out of it but Silva keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Maia manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Silva shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Maia drops back looking for a leg! Silva is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Silva manages to kick Maia off! Maia jumps back into Silva's guard. Silva is trying to keep Maia in close.
Maia is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Silva is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Silva has escaped and now he's on top! Silva is stalling in the full guard. Maia working for submissions but it's allowed Silva to get to half guard.

I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Silva connects with a nice short shot to Maia's temple. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Maia is looking to improve his position.

Silva is pushing down on Maia's leg trying to pass to half guard. Maia is fighting to maintain full guard but Silva has managed to sneak the leg through. Maia actively working from the bottom here. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Maia. Maia really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
